Tennessee Tech beats UT-Martin 85-62

MARTIN, Tenn. (AP)—Jud Dillard scored 25 points to lead Tennessee Tech to an 85-62 win over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday for the Golden Eagles’ first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season.

Kevin Murphy added 18 points, Zach Bailey 13 and Zac Swansey dished out 12 assists for the Golden Eagles (9-6, 1-1), who have beaten their in-state conference foe six straight times. They lead the all-time series 33-11.

The game was close early on, and the Skyhawks led 21-20 with 11:20 left before halftime. But a Dillard layup and a Bailey 3-pointer sparked a 13-4 run for a lead Tennessee Tech wouldn’t relinquish the rest of the way.

The Golden Eagles led by eight points at the break and outscored the Skyhawks 42-27 in the second half to seal it.

Myles Taylor led the Skyhawks (3-12, 0-2) with a game-high 26 points.
