Florida International beats Florida Memorial 67-41

MIAMI (AP)—Cedric Essola scored 17 points to lead Florida International to a 67-41 victory over Florida Memorial on Wednesday night.

Nikola Gacesa added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Panthers (4-4).

The Lions (1-7) were led in scoring by George Gray, who finished with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Andre Thomas chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Florida International, which shot 41.4 percent from the field (24 of 58). The Golden Panthers also outrebounded Florida Memorial 48-26.

The Lions shot 30.6 percent from the field (15 of 49), and failed to make a 3-point shot (0-for-9).
