Louisiana-Monroe rallies past Northern Michigan, 60-53

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP)—Lance Brasher scored 15 points to lead a balanced attack and help Louisiana-Monroe rally past Northern Michigan 60-53 Tuesday at Michigan State in the opening round of the CBE Classic.

Tony Hooper had 12 points for the Warhawks (1-0), while Raphelle Turner may have saved ULM with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Jerard Ajami had 27 points for NMU and was 11-for-20 from the field. Tyler Kazmierkoski added 10 for the Wildcats (0-1).

The Warhawks trailed 13-4 after the first 5:39 and were down 23-20 at halftime.

A 7-0 run midway through the second half gave ULN a 42-36 lead. The margin grew to 50-39 before the Wildcats rallied. But Turner’s four points and three rebounds in the closing minutes kept the Warhawks ahead.

ULM had a 38-29 rebound advantage and was 19-for-22 at the line, sinking 10 more free throws than NMU.
