The Dagger - NCAAB

The first three games of the NCAA tournament had nearly everything a college basketball fan could want – narrow finishes, overtimes, great performances and controversial calls. All that was missing was a classic buzzer beater. Murray State obliged.

Danero Thomas hit a 15-foot jump shot as the buzzer sounded to give the No. 13-seeded Racers a stunning 66-65 over No. 4 Vanderbilt. It was the biggest upset thus far of the 2010 tourney.

Vanderbilt had taken a one-point lead on two Jermaine Beals free throws with 12.7 seconds remaining. The Racers streaked down the court and missed a hurried three but the rebound bounced off a Vanderbilt player, giving Murray State possession with 4.2 seconds left.

Murray State, 31-4, earned an NCAA tournament berth by winning the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. It's the school's second-ever tournament win and first since 1988.
