Indiana coach Tom Crean, left, hugs forward Kyle Taber on senior night following Indiana's 64-59 loss to Michigan State in an NCAA college basketball game in Bloomington, Ind., Tuesday, March 3, 2009.
Kyle Taber is probably the least likely player to deserve a photo of the day tribute, but that also makes him worthy today. The former walk-on was recruited to Indiana by Mike Davis; played few minutes under Kelvin Sampson; and then was thrust into a leadership role as the only returning starter -- and only senior -- on Indiana's makeshift 2008-09 team. Last night, he got a hug and a bunch of cheers. It was sort of sweet.
Cheers, Kyle. May the wind always be at your back, and may you never be the top returning scorer on a Big Ten team ever, ever again.
