The Dagger - NCAAB

How are people in Memphis doing? Better than you might think, seeing as Wednesday night's allegations effectively throw their school's basketball future in the balance. For a barometer, you won't find a better read than Memphis Commercial Appeal columnist Geoff Calkins, who meets the situation with equal parts anger, humor, intelligence and reason: "Look at the bright side: At least Memphis won’t have to forfeit a championship! ... There’s no telling whether the NCAA will be able to prove the SAT allegations. Some close to the case seem to think the evidence is pretty flimsy. Either way, it doesn’t appear the basketball program will be hit with significant penalties into the future. So this case is about the past. This case is about Calipari. The man can get a program to the Final Four, can’t he? At least temporarily." [Memphis Commercial Appeal]
