      <description> &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Having already taken a huge punch in the gut when leading scorer Kevin Martin fractured his left wrist in the second week of the season, the Kings were staring at an early knockout when rookie star Tyreke Evans had his right middle finger X-rayed after Friday's loss at Dallas.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Fortunately, the Kings ducked this one.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The X-rays were negative, so Evans' status officially became day-to-day.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;On Saturday, the rookie experienced the problem of having a sprained middle finger on his shooting hand.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;You can't splint it, because that severely hampers your ability to dribble and catch the ball.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;You can't even tape it, because that makes shooting anything longer than a layup troublesome.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;And if you don't do anything, the banging not only could do...</description>

After leading by 15 points in the second quarter and holding a 59-52 halftime edge, the Rockets needed 22 points from Luis Scola and some defense down the stretch to beat the Sacramento Kings 113-106 on Saturday night.</p><br clear="all" />]]></description>

With the Mavericks missing three starters, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year got some much needed help from his fellow reserves Friday night.
