The joke about Arco Arena being built on old Indian burial grounds is surely getting old if you're the Kings. Especially after their latest experience with cursed luck.

Already off to a 1-4 start, the Kings' early season got much worse on Nov. 5. First came the news that starting small forward Andres Nocioni had been arrested early that morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Then later that day, an MRI revealed a hairline fracture in the left wrist of shooting guard and leading scorer Kevin Martin.

The Kings have no real solutions to these problems. If Nocioni pleads guilty, he will likely be suspended for two games just as Phoenix's Jason Richardson was recently when he was guilty of the same charge.

Sacramento Kings leading scorer Kevin Martin will be sidelined for about two months after deciding to undergo surgery on his injured wrist. The team said Friday that Martin will have the operation on his left wrist on Monday and is expected to miss at least eight weeks. Martin has a non displaced hairline fracture of the navicular bone in his wrist.

The Sacramento Kings have signed swingman Ime Udoka to a contract. The team did not release terms of the deal announced Wednesday. Udoka spent the preseason with Portland before being waived last month. Udoka is averaging 6.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game in his five-year career. He has played 227 games for the Los Angeles Lakers, New York, Portland and San Antonio.
