Friday night's Timberwolves game against Milwaukee at Target Center never fully delivered on the promise of a matchup pitting rookie point guards Jonny Flynn and Brandon Jennings against one another. Give the twice-a-season series time. It soon will.

The two players became friends because wherever one of them went for a pre-draft workout last summer, the other always seemed to be there. They'd already met twice in the preseason before Friday's first regular-season gathering brought together two players who might forever be compared because they play the same position and were selected four spots apart in last summer's draft.

At least, unlike Brandon Roy and Randy Foye, their surnames don't rhyme.

Until Friday, Jennings had fairly amazed in his first three NBA...

The recovering big men bumped and banged around the basket all night, and a beat-up Andrew Bogut got the better of Al Jefferson. Bogut gave the defense-first Bucks plenty of muscle at both ends with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Milwaukee used a third-quarter surge to top the worn-down Jefferson and the Minnesota Timberwolves 87-72 on Friday.

Love broke his hand in the preseason and had surgery on Oct. 20. Doctors told him to expect a recovery time of six to eight weeks.
