Center Shaquille O'Neal said he tried everything in his power, but team doctors at the Cleveland Clinic still refused to give him a cortisone injection in his ailing left shoulder.

"You can tell it's a great organization because I asked them to shoot me up a couple times and they said no," O'Neal said. "I wanted them to shoot me up with a cortisone shot. They wouldn't do it. I had to do regular rehab."

O'Neal, 37, has missed the last six games with a strained rotator cuff.

"I went up to block (Heat forward Michael) Beasley's dunk in the first half and my shoulder got jammed," he said of the Nov. 12 game at AmericanAirlines Arena. "Unfortunately, I missed a couple games.
