Bobcats coach Larry Brown took a gamble on using his bench Sunday, and he couldn't help but be impressed by the results.

Three starters are among the top 30 in the NBA in minutes per game: Gerald Wallace, (a league-high 42.5), Boris Diaw (37.8) and Stephen Jackson (35.9). That had to lighten up sometime or they'd burn out.

Sunday, Brown played four reserves 11 minutes or more apiece. The results were promising as the Bobcats defeated the Indiana Pacers to break a seven-game losing streak. The bench totaled 40 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

The most impressive reserve was rookie forward Derrick Brown, a second-round pick who finished with 13 points, four rebounds and two steals.
