As Venezuela prepares for their appearance in Olympic basketball in Rio with a friendly exhibition in Chicago Friday night against Team USA, the national team received some bad news about its best player. Brooklyn Nets point guard Greivis Vasquez has pulled out of playing in the Olympics for Venezuea due to recovery from an ankle injury he suffered during the 2015-16 season. He announced through the Nets that after consulting with the team and the medical staff, the best course of action for him and his career is to sit out the Olympics this summer.
