With changes anticipated in the New York Knicks' organization this offseason, and the potential for a coaching search should Garden chairman James Dolan decide to sever ties with Isiah Thomas, Patrick Ewing could be ready to make another arrival in New York.

This time as a head coach.

"That's definitely something I want," Ewing said of becoming a head coach in the NBA, "but am I ready? You won't know until you get the offer."

Ewing is in his fifth season as an assistant coach and his first on Stan Van Gundy's staff with the Orlando Magic. He previously worked with Jeff Van Gundy with the Houston Rockets.

    yes. yes. yes.
he would restore pride and toughness. he'd also be perfect if we're gonna be stuck with those sloppy heartless big men of ours.
i wonder why he hasn't patrolled our sidelines to date yet. he must still be salty about getting traded.
    --as well he should be.

Bill Lambier and Mahorn. Ewing can take over for Zeke as the top cat. But New York should hire two of the "Real" Bad Boys as Coaches who will make the knicks tough. I'm a Pistons fan although I think Lambier and Mahorn could come in and teach these ladies on the Knicks how to be men like these two have done with the Detroit WNBA team.

As a Knick fan, I hope he returns. The Curse of Ewing- ever since we traded him- we have went down hill. His return will balance the universe out lol.

Patrick Ewing as the Head Coach, hopefully not in my lifetime. Unless of course the Knicks want to continue in the basement.

Anyone would be better than Zeke. He must have some racy photos of Jimmy Dolan. But here's a little suggestion for the Knick fans. As long as you're going to the games, you're making Dolan money and clearly that's all he cares about. Stop going to the games and show him that you as fans aren't going to put up with crap. I know it's fun to go and yell 'Fire Isiah' but while you're having fun, Jimmy is rolling around in his money and not caring about your team.

YES! Please bring big Pat back in there to help restore the broken image of basketball in the Big Apple! If management is smart they would persue this with some urgency. He can't do any worse than I.T. and the Garden fans still love him! WTF Dolan, Isiah?! Why?!

whether it works out its a start in the right direction at least Ewing would deserve some patience to get the job done. You know he's a hard worker the effort would be there. The New GM[thank goodness] would have to help Ewing with the process he couldnt do it himself..let's face it Isiah has DESTROYED the knicks it will taked a tremedous talent of minds to improve this stench I mean team

I respect Ewing, so I hope he doesn't ruin his reputation by taking over the NYK trainwreck unless Thomas and Lil Arseface Jimmy are out of the picture. Thomas is a complete incompetent as an executive, and Lil Arseface is clearly Arsetarded or he would have given Thomas the boot a long time ago.

Be careful what you wish for. Remember, Ewing got no rings while in NYC. He has no track record as a head coach. He only worked for the Van Gundys. There are much better candidates than Ewing.
