Will Bulls, Nets swap draft choices?

One of the many rumors circulating as the NBA Draft nears has the Chicago Bulls sending the No. 16 and 26 picks to New Jersey for the No. 11 selection, according to the Arlington Heights (Ill.) Daily Herald.

According to the report, the deal has been discussed, but hasn't really heated up. There has been talk that the Nets like North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough, who should be available at 16. So it's possible New Jersey is more interested in moving down than the Bulls are in moving up.

This is generally regarded as a weak draft, so the Bulls have to ask themselves if it's really worth giving up that No. 26 pick, which could bring a backup point guard like Toney Douglas or Darren Collison, or an extra big man.

    FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ill keep the 2 picks if i was the bulls. You wont really get a nice player for 11th pick so you might as well keep the 16th and the 26th. theres more chance that you can get an average player.

bulls should trade the picks because even though there probably is no real difference between 11 and 16, you get rid of a guaranteed contract with the 26

what a lame article, the nets suck and should jump on the chance to get two more prospects. saying they suck doesn't mean they won't make the playoffs, they are in the east.

Toney douglas has a chance to be really good but may also do nothing. collison will be a solid backup pg but nothing more than that. it is probably worth having one of them in the lineup since hinrich plays sg sometimes so they dont really have anyone behind hinrich and rose who will get heavy mintues

The bulls should trade up only to get jordan hill, because he is the second best poward forward in this weak draft and his at least 6 10 in height and is compared to chris bosh.

if i was the bulls, i would look to trade the two picks and maybe tyrus thomas or noah for a proven veteran like vince carter. they looked good in the post season and i feel that more young players won't help. so, if they trade for a good veteran like carter, he will rub off on the young players like rose.

i dont hate that idea Matt G, but Carter is not the answer. Does that make sense? trading younge players for Vets is great if the Vet can help them win a championship.
Spurs......Get Carter, and they are back in Championship form.
Cavs.....get Carter or Shaq... or both.... They will Def win the Championship

If I'm the bulls I keep the pick b/c the only way they're going to get Gordon back is if he takes a smaller pay cut. Even if he does it puts them in a position to pay the luxury tax. I keep the picks and take Earl Clark or James Johnson at 16 then at 26 look for a SG or a Pg

trading the pick makes sense financially . Only 1 guaranteed 1st round contract. But the only player worth taking if your only getting one player is James Johnson he can score he can defend very good athlete 7'1" wingspan. The ideal situation is Johnson falls to 16 and we can still get the back up point who can score a little at 26 in tony douglas or I like jereal mcneal and patty mills. As far as getting a big man in this draft good luck. Mullens is sorry Id put more stock in Omer Asik.

I guess I'm the only Nets fan in this post :( I wouldn't trade the pick if i were the Nets brass, maybe if we are lucky Demar or Hill may drop to us (which they probably won't).
    @ Matt G:
that's actually not a half-bad carter trade compared to all the dumb rumors i've heard him involved in. If we were to trade VC though, I would want at leats some good talent and a draft pick (c Devin Harris trade).

The Bulls should keep their picks and get the players that other teams would want. That way , The Bulls can have a bigger bargaining chip to trade with against other teams. If Deng don't shape up, trade him, if ben gordon don't wise up, trade him, too. Get rid of Tim Thomas. Stick a fork in him, he's done. Besides, he didn't want to play for Chicago when we picked him up the first time. Peace.

I would trade all three picks n maybe miller, tim thomas or noah n get the #2 n get Thabeet then sign Gordon. but i would not trade the first two. with #16, take T-Will from Louisville. and then see where your at for #26. If they trade up, there going after Johnny Flynn, I like this guy but idk. Williams is a 6-6 guard who has range and drive ability.

Gordan & DEng were supposed to be the cornerstones of the Bulls resurection two years ago. They were never that good. But both wanted franchise player type money. Say bye bye to both. Keep Hinrich, he is the only guard that can guard anybody. He even shut down Pierce, a SF vs Boston. And pitched a shutout vs D-Wade in the Bulls 4-0 sweep of the Heat in 2007. If Hinrich took 5 more SPG, he would win defensive player of the year. He might do that with Ben gone.

All the people who keep posting the bulls should trade picks for Amare don't know much about what the bulls actually need. First off, the bulls NEED a low post player....Amare hasn't been a low post player since his knee surgery (note his shot selection and rebound decline since his knees gave out). He's become more of a high post player the past few seasons. Sure, amare can score...but the bulls already have enough players who can do that. Keep the picks at least till the first couple of draft picks are taken and then see who might be available at 11 before pulling off any kind of swap.
