The first of David Lee's(notes) six years with the Golden State Warriors may start with him having surgery. He injured his right middle finger Tuesday while training with Team USA in Las Vegas for the world championships this summer in Turkey, according to ESPN.
The Golden State Warriors obtained Lee from the New York Knicks in a sign-and-trade earlier this month. In the deal, Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf(notes) and Kelenna Azubuike(notes) went to the Knicks, and Lee signed a six-year, $80 million contract.
Lee headed back to California so Golden State trainers and a hand specialist could look at the injury, ESPN reported. "I looked down and my finger was completely turned to the side," Lee told the site. "It's possibly a tendon or a dislocation of some sort."
