Trail Blazers' Aldridge thinks deal will get done

“LaMarcusPortland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge(notes) has till midnight on Halloween to sign a contract extension and he's apparently saying the deal will somehow get done, according to the Oregonian.

"I think both parties are really trying to get it done now," he told the paper. The two sides have apparently been talking everyday.

Talks on this started back on July 1 so you gotta think they've already discussed every possible contingency and ramification of any kind of deal. Talks supposedly picked up last week as the deadline got closer. Aldridge apparently doesn't want to be a restricted free agent next summer and is looking forward to a lucrative, multiyear deal to stay in Portland.

    Who should start? BRoy wants to begin with last year's five, to smooth things out. I think they need to get Oden in there sooner than later, and Miller needs to start. The three is tricky, but at least we have too much talent - not really a bad thing. Whoever gets plugged into the three slots will be fine with me, as the Big Two are gonna be in there regardless. Do Miller and Roy need to be seperated, so each can have the ball predominatly?Next Tuesday can not come soon enough for this Rip City Diehard!(especially with my Seahawks coughing up blood) Go Blazerrrrrrrz!

    Oden is way overrated. Roy, Aldridge & Batum is who they're building around. they keep pushing Oden to the forefront in order to make him good enough to trade.

    Oden... is... Overrated??? While it's a little early to say anything, I'm wondering if everyone is seeing the same preseason that I've been seeing. Because I've been seeing a dominant force down low. But, whatever, apparently averaging 18 or so points a game isn't good enough...

Do you know why Laker fans always talk shiite about the Blazers and their fans? Fear and envy. Fear of losing. Envious of a real team with real fans, not the best players money can buy, not Jack Nicholson, Snoop Dogg, Donald Sutherland, or whatever celeb just happens to be a Laker fan. Envious Portlanders can breath air without gas masks, can show our kids different trees just by going outside, and can drive at a reasonable speed from one place to another even using the freeway. I can't wait for the big earthquake to wipe LA and the Lakers off the map, too bad about all of the people that live there and don't play for the Lakers
