The Minnesota Timberwolves drafted guard O.J. Mayo(notes) third overall in the 2008 draft, but then shipped him to the Memphis Grizzlies with three other players for Kevin Love(notes) and three others. Now, the Timberwolves want Mayo back. is reporting that the Wolves plan to make a push to get Mayo back from the Grizzlies. Mayo is frustrated coming off the bench in Memphis and "needs a change," a source told CBS Sports.

The Timberwolves are looking ahead to next season when they foresee Mayo in the backcourt with Ricky Rubio(notes), whom the team drafted fifth overall in 2009 but who opted to play in Spain instead. The buyout that Minnesota must pay FC Barcelona is down to $1 million, CBS reports. And Rubio is apparently ready to move to the states.

Another target for the Timberwolves is Anthony Randolph(notes) of the New York Knicks, CBS reports, and the team would be willing to send Sebastian Telfair(notes) (but not Luke Ridnour(notes)) to the Big Apple to get him.
