NBA - Scoop Du Jour

Boston Celtics assistant coach Tom Thibodeau has been on the list for a lot of potential coaching jobs in recent years, but when he finally got an offer, he reportedly turned it down.

ESPN reported that the New Orleans Hornets offered their vacant coaching job to Thibodeau and the New York Post reported that he told the team no.

ESPN reported that Thibodeau had until Game 1 of the NBA Finals to make his decision. Word is that he would like to wait for other possible offers, such as one with the Chicago Bulls or New Jersey Nets, to come rolling in. The site reported that the Hornets will offer the job to Portland Trail Blazers assistant Monty Williams.

The Post asserted that Thibodeau is now the frontrunner for the Bulls job while former Houston Rockets coach Avery Johnson will likely be the top dog in New Jersey.
