Suns sign Johnson, Giricek next

Gordan Giricek

Soon-to-be Phoenix Suns swingman Gordan Giricek likely will meet his new team in Portland and sign a contract Tuesday. He is set to clear waivers at noon and could play Tuesday night.

Linton Johnson was signed Monday morning to a second 10-day contract and has a good chance to stay with the team for the season after point guard Tyronn Lue decided to sign with the Dallas Mavericks.

I've always been a fan of Steve Kerr the player, Steve Kerr the man, Steve Kerr the announcer, even Steve Kerr the Owner; but he's lost me as Steve Kerr doing his impression of a Knicks GM with the Suns. Shaq? Who's next, Mutombo?

Smush Parker might be next on the list for Suns and Mavs. They're fighting each other to sign players that are waived by lottery teams like Sixers, Hawks lol. It only shows how desperate they are now, trying to grab every waived players there are lol. Suns will soon sign Charles to replace Shaq, at least Charles is in a better shape. Mavs will soon try to play Kenny Smith to replace Kidd cause Smith will play for much less money. Suns and Mavs are cracking me up. They might as well drop out of the playoff to get be a lottery team and rebuild. You can't keep up with the Lakers and the Spurs. lol it's funny how Gasol's trade ruin those 2 franchise overnight. Playing GM is dangerous.

good move. they have all the big names that require coverage. no one will cover this guy, he'll get wide open 3's, and he needs to hit them. he is the Vujacic or Farmar of the Lakers. everyone covers Kobe, Gasol, and Odum and leaves those clowns open to do their thing. good move Suns!

All this trade and west movements is all because of the celtic big 3. once the celtics unite, they revived the trading fantasy. those who made good deal got the most. those who made bad deal looks for player to back up.

They'd be better off signing Smush Parker. At least he is an athelete and would get a few steals. Giracek is soft, plays no defense and is inconsistent offensively.

linton is a good move because he is defense-oriented, can hit midrangers, and is a confident player.

All this talk about how great the Lakers are...reminds me a lot of all the talk of how great the Cowboys were this year. I predict a similar let down in the playoffs, though the lakers will probably get out of the first round. The Lakers will not win the championship. I predict Detroit.

Smush or Giricek which spare do we sign, lets go for the cheapest cause neither will make any difference.Unless the Suns find a way to fit Shaq in with this team, they will be out in the 1st rd of the play-offs.

it`s nice to see teams getting players for strength and depth - it makes the nba more exciting to watch. i just hope the nba looks into the teams that waive other players without even trying them out. there are obvious "arrangements" with this. i don`t belive that other teams would agree to get a player in a trade if they would only buy them off like barry, van horn and others. hmmmm ... something fishy ... i am not for any particular team but only for the betterment of the nba. go sterny ...

The suns are screwed with Giricrap. First he screwed over the Jazz, then screwed the 76ers and now he is going to screw over the suns. He is the biggest ball hog around. Expect him to take a shot every time he touches the ball. He has no defense to speak of and really is a lousy shooter. Now I know the suns have no chance in the playoffs.
