Suns looking to deal for veteran defender

Because the Phoenix Suns sent two players away for one in the Shaq trade, they have 12 players on their roster; the NBA minimum is 13.

The Suns must acquire a player within two weeks from the time the trade is completed, which can't happen until Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks pass their physicals for the Miami Heat.

"We are already looking at guys, contacting agents," Suns General Manager Steve Kerr said. "I think it's safe to say we're looking for a wing defender/shooter. D.J. (Strawberry) can fill that role. Excellent defender. I would think we will add somebody like that. Preferably a guy who's played a bit."

    Wow #8 it is funny to hear a Suns fan say a Lakers fan is crying, since the Suns fans have alway been know as the leagues biggest crybabies. Anyway, the Shaq trade will hurt you guys in the long run. Remember you are getting an old out of shape Shaq not the one the Lakers had.

    is patterson actually available? not on a bench or jail cell somewhere? he can play. wouldn't hurt them to bring up a freakishly-athletic D-league guy, though.

    SMUSH PARKER.
    He the best playa in the league and ain't nobody can hang wit him. He will INSTANTLY score like no other playa in the HISTORY of the NBA and the Suns can just chalk up a championship for themselves now if they get him. Plus, they get his SMUSHCALADE as part of any deal...cuz SMUSH always rolls in his SMUSHCALADE, along with his many bandwagon fans.

    I love how the Suns win two playoff series with the lakers in 60 years and all these bandwagoners come out to taught the "fakers" haha, look at all the championship banners baby!!! come talk with Phoenix actually wins something other than the "whiners" award.

    Careful guys when talking about Shaq. Don't wanna make him upset lol cause he's gonna win a championship with Phoenix. Seriously though Kerr looking for Veteran Defender. Isn't that is reason for why he traded for Shaq in the first place. I still wonder what Kerr was thinking when trading for Shaq. Looks like he'll get an early start at a return to TNT. Shaq's been broken down for 60 % of the games. The Suns now only play six to seven guys every game. Just like every year their going to be worn down. Every year the issue has been developing a bench go and get someone like Damon or James Posey or Gary Payton Actually develop the young talent like Detroit has. Especially coming out of the Western Conference. For instance the Spurs can go 10-11 players deep when healthy. It doesn't take a genius to realize this.
