Sent home after just one game of the rodeo road trip because of continuing problems with his left ankle, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker spent the previous three weeks undergoing treatment and working on exercise equipment to maintain his cardiovascular conditioning.

He declared himself pain-free before Tuesday's game against the Charlotte Bobcats and hoped to talk coach Gregg Popovich into giving him some playing time. Popovich allowed Parker to suit up, but not to take the court. However, the MVP of the 2007 NBA Finals likely will get about 10 minutes when the Spurs play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

"I just didn't want to pull the trigger (Tuesday)," Popovich said. "I want to give him a little more rest. I think he'll get some minutes in Minnesota. Not many, but he'll play."

Funny how everyone talks about how great Tim Duncan is, but when he doesn't have his great supporting cast, they don't do so great. Seems to me KG had a good supporting cast 1 year and made it to the conference finals, which they would've won if Cassel hadn't gotten hurt. Still a question of who's better, I think not

This is great!!!! this is about the same time every season where the spurs go on a run. they fly under the radar and somehow end up in the top 3 in the west. with the addition of damon stoudamire, this will keep that ankle that parker has less stressful.

I dont get how whenever there is a Rumor or ANY sort of conversation about basketball that doesnt have to do with the lakers, Laker fans just seem to always find a way to make it part of their business, If the Kobe D#$^ riding wasnt enough they get Pau and get more ignorant than Yankee fans.
YEAAAA GO LAKERS!! thats all you guys say on every post, i have never seen one statement from any laker fan that uses a bit of knowledge of the game.

Hey Anonymous you hate Laker fans and you compare them to Yankee fans. You must be a fan of a team that has a long and storied history of losing. Laker fans don't write the rumor section on Yahoo, it just so happens that the Lakers are relevant to pro basketball, just like the Yankees are to pro baseball. Get over it loser, some teams are more poular than others. Your team must have missed the playoffs for years for you to be this bitter. Get it straight Laker and Yankee fans could be discribed as obnoxious not ignorant, ignorance implies that we don't know anything about our respective sports which is totally not the case. Winners know everything about their respective sports, they have to. You're the one that's ignorant.

You have to win at least a back to back to be called a dynasty. Come on! The Spurs like to show up every other year. The Spurs windows is closing just like the Mavs and the Suns. They have a good foundation but they better upgrade their supporting cast or they will be done. The LAKERS are just getting started, we'll show you Spurs fans what a real dynasty is.

The Lakers are PRETENDERS who have they played since aquiring Gasol to make them a top team? Everybody knows most of these same Laker fans were some Celtic fans until they got Gasol.Oh but fret not my fellow Spur fans let the media and everybody else continue to show the Suns and Lakers mad Love while we fly under the radar to our first back to back in our History....Yes,Go SPURS!!!

Who was the genius that said you have to win back to back titles to be a dynasty? Maybe they are the same ones that said the 99' champs should have an asterisk beside it...(SMART) Spurs 4 Lakers 0(SWEEP)!!! That's funny ask Sir Charles,The Mailman,Patrick Ewing (let alone win back to back) how hard it is to even get into the Finals....Lakers don't worry when playoffs come y'all can vanish just like you did when you lost last year.the year before that and the year before that too...now that's a 3peat for yo mind....
