San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan(notes) sprained his ankle Monday night. The team is giving no timetable as to when the two-time MVP is expected back in game action, but the San Antonio Express-News reports that head coach Gregg Popovich definitely plans on having him back at the start of the playoffs.
The paper noted that in the hours after the game Monday, Spurs TV analyst Sean Elliott predicted that it would take two weeks for the return of Duncan, who is averaging 13.3 points, 9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game this year.
"I'm hoping it won't be that long," Popovich said, according to the paper. "A good four or five games for sure."
