Shaquille O'Neal said he hasn't ruled out a return to the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent in 2010 according to the Los Angeles Daily News. He also claimed he never had a problem with Kobe Bryant while they played together with the Lakers. He said he believes they could have won more titles together if he hadn't been traded to the Miami Heat in 2004.

"I swear to God we never had a problem," O'Neal, now with the Phoenix Suns, said during an interview posted Friday on the Web site of the Sacramento Bee. "On the court, we never had a problem."

Instead, O'Neal blamed their creative tension on Lakers coach Phil Jackson.

"I think it was all designed by Phil," he said. "Because, if you think about it, Phil never called us into the office and said, `Both of you, shut the (heck) up.' Never did that in four years. He knew that when I read something, I was going to get upset. And he knew Kobe was going to always come out and play hard.

"So I think it was all done by design."

Asked if he believed Jackson did it to motivate the players, O'Neal said, "Yeah, I think that's exactly what it was. ... He never called us in a meeting and said, `Shut up.' And basically, it was never a face-to-face ... thing. It was always, he'd say something to you, I'd say something to another guy, I'd say something to you. That's all it was."

Still, O'Neal sounded wistful in reflecting on his Lakers days.

"Now that I look back on it, that (stuff) was kind of fun," he said. "It really was. It was kind of fun. `What did he say, what did he say?' I tell people if we would have had a reality show, we'd have had the No. 1 reality show in the world. ''

Man please, the Lakers are already stacked, they need not Shaq! And who would want Shaq at this age anyway? Of course Shaq is lying here. Both him and Kobe have big egos and both wanted to lead the team and they clashed. Everyone knows that Kobe tried to take over games all the time and Shaq did not like that. Of course, Shaq need not to lead now b/c he is old but in his young days it was all about him and Kobe the same. Better that they never play on the same team again, only at the all-star game, maybe.

Blah, blah, blah. The only reason he is coming out with this is because his crappy Suns suck. He would love to come back to the Lakers and get another ring. Sorry Shaq, your done. You couldn't hang with the fast pased Lakers. The second unit that is. You sureely won't be starting. NO MORE RINGS FOR YOU.

cmon lakers would love to have shaq back since he pretty much gave them those 3 titles. Shaqs better than Kobe career-wise and sending pau and bynum to the suns for shaq would make the lakers instant contenders against the better teams like boston and detroit.

hahaha, before this article you'll hear several blows thrown by the big aristotle, now this? I pitty the man. He's once the strongest force this league has ever seen and he can end his career on a good note but this? he'll be remembered not by the rings he won but the antics that he did. Sorry big diesel, you seemed lost.

Bobby, think again! I'm also a fan of the Big Diesel and I look up to the things he did in LA but I'm also a Laker fan even before his arrival and do you think sending Andrew and Pau to PHX will be a great idea? Common man, use your nut shell

big fellla.... better shut your mouth now because people dont believe you now since you have been talking thrash to Kobe and some coaches like Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich. You have so much pride and Big ego like your mouth and lips. Come on, you're getting old now and you should act like a full-grown man with common sense and wisdom...and lastly, you are not accepted anymore in the Lakersland because its Kobe's territory already...why asked Jerry Buss, he recently said that he will not let Kobe go!!! Can you understand that, you damn old Shaq?

Shaq has proven he can win a title without Kobe. Kobe never will win another title without Shaq. Shaq's probably saying all this just to get under Kobe's skin, like yeah I'd go back to the Lakers and help Kobe win another championship since he can't do it on his own!

I knew Shaq had a thing for Kobe! It was all Dr. Phil's fault...Well, if you play in Hollywood there is plenty of drama to be seen. It was fun while it lasted...could've had many more championships together!
    Go Lakers 2009!
