Turns out Miami Heat coach Pat Riley's threat to demote rookie guard Daequan Cook was more than a threat.

Riley announced before Tuesday night's game against Sacramento that Cook and rookie center Joel Anthony would be sent Wednesday to the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League for five games. Riley said he expects both players to receive the minutes there that have not been available in the Heat rotation.

sounds about right to me, Cook has been shooting horrible. like he's wayyyy off his game. Riley's tryin to light that fire underneath him again.

The heat are a joke. Nice old Shaq was the best thing that happened to them. The heat should play in the NCAA.

D league is a good place for Riley to coach. He can reinvent himself there.
