Mickael Pietrus

The Toronto Raptors, meanwhile, are working the phones in advance of the trade deadline. There were rumblings Wednesday night that Toronto GM Bryan Colangelo has been talking with his Golden State Warriors counterpart, Chris Mullin, about sending Juan Dixon and Joey Graham to the Bay Area for swingman Mickael Pietrus.

The 6-foot-6 Pietrus certainly won't help the Raptors much in the rebounding department, the club's biggest need, but he is a slasher and a solid defender at the small forward position, and they definitely could use another defender.

The Raps made attempts to get Pietrus in the off season. Once a player is on BCs radar, he can't escape...lol...
I hope Joey gets some love in GS...which he probably won't until they deal Brandon Wright!...

I don't really see this trade helping either team. I think it's the product of some sports reporter playing fantasy basketball while drinking intoxicating beverages.

Man, these fools can't do nothin to help the Raptors. They need a guy that can do it all and spark their team. There's only one guy available that can do that job. His name is...
    SMUSH PARKER.
SMUSH can run, jump, pass, shoot, dunk, drive, spin, steal, block, pick, and roll wit it. He's the best playa in the NBA and ain't nobody can stand up to his mad skillz. He can be had for cheap 'cuz The Man in Miami be holdin him down, not lettin him play so they can get the Numba One Pick in the Draft. Plus, if you get SMUSH, you also get the SMUSHCALADE as well as his loyal followers: the SMUSH-ITES aka Members of the INSANE SMUSH POSSE.

joey graham? i only know of this guy because he is in the starting lineup for the raps in 2k8 but this deal is not worth it for the warriors, yeah pietrus has not been playing well but that boy has a chance of shining in the east. Captain Jack has been taking a lot of the minutes at SF. He's an exciting player as long as he's happy with the minutes he's getting. He played great at the end of last yr's run, we need him to start playing like that again. Maybe he will after yesterday's WIN against Boston, Great game

Everyone says we need Dixon with Ford as a ? but Meh if you move Delfino to spell Calderon like he's been doing, and kapono to spell parker then bringing in a guy like Pietrus to back up Moon, or even start over him would be nice...that being said could the raps sign him t an affordable contract at season's end? I see this as not happening...but it'd be nice if it did

I really wish the Warriors would find a way to grab Ben Wallace instead. That's a guy who could help us. I fail to see how Dixon & Graham really help us unless they have expiring contracts.

graham and dixon are nobodies, and as much as pietrus struggles here with the dubs, or thinks he's starter material (who knows, maybe he'll impress if a team gives him that chance), he's a greater asset to the warriors than graham or dixon ever could be.

What the Warriors need from the Raps is a 2nd round pick. yeah, yeah, a 1st rounder would be great and all, but we all know how good we are at scouting 2nd rounders! ie Gilbert, Monta. so after we get dixon (who is a decent scorer who will sit on our bench) and Graham (who has skills and probably would get more PT than Wright), we would also want a 2nd round pick. hell, we'll throw in croshere too.

I'm just tired of Pietrus complaining about his role on the team. if he didn't hack as much he'd get more pt. he does have good off the ball defensive skills and shows spurts of offensive ability, but he's got bad chemistry with the rest of the team. you can watch him out there trying to do his own thing and not helping the flow of the warriors!

Trade him for a big man. If Golden State wants to make the playoffs this year and compete, they need another big, and I'm sorry, but Chris Webber is not the answer after all the injures that he has sustained. Either try trading him to Milwaukee for Charlie Villanueva, Portland for Channing Frye or Travis Outlaw, Seattle for Chris Wilcox, or even at the very least Chicago for Joe Smith.

I agree with trading for a big man who can defend. Pietrus is an defender many teams are looking for, and can also finish at the rim.
Please don't trade him to the Raptors for the said players. He is way better and has a lot of upside. What he needs is playing time. No matter who he is traded for, that person will probably not play a lot anyway.
I'd say go for Moon! =D
