Toronto Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo admitted Tuesday that more teams around the NBA inquired about acquiring point guard Jose Calderon more than any other player on the Toronto roster during this past off-season, meaning that it will be particularly difficult to keep him. But Colangelo believes he can.
A free agent after the season, Toronto may have to pay starters money for the back-up to T.J. Ford. Colangelo is optimistic that he can keep Calderon in Raptor red next year despite the fact that the cost may be prohibitive. The Raptors will pay Ford $8 million next season and if Calderon has another good year in Toronto, he could be looking for close to $5 million per year.

Wow these rumors are getting so bad they don't even proofread!
Jose Calderon, the best backup pure passer PG in the NBA, is easily worth $5M.

No way we are going to trade Jose. For a scorer? You know, we have Bargnani develops to Dirk. We just have to give him some time.
Btw, I bet you Cavs will ask desperately for Calderon. Trust me, they need someone that can pass and create space for LBJ.
