Toronto Raptors point guard Jose Calderon(notes) was out earlier this week and the team "looked lost offensively" in losses to the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls, the Toronto Sun reports. Then Calderon returned Wednesday, scoring 20 points and assisting 17 times, to help the team to a 120-105 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Raptors coach Jay Triano told the Sun that his other two point guards -- Jerryd Bayless(notes) and Leandro Barbosa(notes)- - "are more scorers, sometimes we don't get the movement that we need [when they are playing the point]. It makes a world of difference."
Triano then revealed that the Raptors may soon be looking for a point guard to add, possibly on 10-day contract.
"I think that's something we're going to have to look at a little closer," Triano said, according to the Sun. "We need to find out who's going to be available [to play against Boston and then against Sacramento on Sunday]." He had already talked to GM Bryan Colangelo about possible candidates.
