Detroit Pistons restricted free-agent guard Will Bynum(notes) had some career numbers last season: 10 points, 4.5 assists and 26.4 minutes per game. So the 27-year-old wants more than the $825,000 he was paid last season. After all, other backup point guards have signed this offseason for around $4 million per season.
According to the Detroit News, Bynum's agent and the team have been talking a lot, trying to work something out, but it's been moving slowly. "[General manager] Joe [Dumars] and I are working at it," Bynum's agent, Mark Bartlestein, told the paper. "We're putting a lot of time and energy into it."
