NBA - Sports Rumors

Talks continue between the Detroit Pistons and Utah Jazz about a Carlos Boozer(notes)-Rip Hamilton trade, according to the News-Herald in Northern Ohio.

Hamilton didn't fit with Allen Iverson(notes) this season, and he won't fit with newly acquired Ben Gordon(notes). In fact, Gordon has become Iverson. He has no conscience when taking shots.

in my opinion it is an excellent trade cuz the pistons need a good post player and the jazz could use someone who can hit shots so although i am neither a pistons nor jazz fan i would like to see this trade happen and better both teams. definately wont give either of them a championship though. Spurs are goin be champs.......... hopefully

Interesting deal if it goes through, but where would this leave Tayshaun Prince since Villanueva plays SF too?

Bad trade because you do not gain much. You get a guy who can score but that's Boozer. You lose a big man, and that is the biggest loss, regardless of having Paul Millsap. Unless you have a backup for Paul, then no, no trade. If you can, then good trade.

Would be interesting for both parties. Boozer already has expressed a desire to leave Utah. Decided to stick around only after realizing the money wasn't out there this year....but next year? Should be plenty of money to go around. Utah could use a Hamilton. He and Chauncy worked well together in Detroit and won a championship (albiet a few years ago now).
Would allow the Pistons to look at dealing Prince...or using Villanueva off the bench, which is how he really should be used. An expensive backup yes, but prince and Boozer are better at their respective positions than CV.

Are the salaries the same? I cant see that being an even trade. I guess the NBA doesnt care about lopsided trades as long as the Lakers and Celtics get better. Oh and you gotta make Lebron happy too.

Boozer routinely gives up big nights to whoever he is guarding to this would be a good trade. Milsap and Kirilenko can play the four (Andrei's natural position), Brewer/Miles/Harpring at the three, this now becomes the weak shooting position. Trade Miles and Harp's expiring contract and get someone that can shoot like Battier. A Battier/Brewer combo at the three, Hamilton/Korver at the two. Also Koufos can play the four and will be a good player for a long time.

After all is said and done the Pistons still don't have a true quality point guard. You know someone who get everybody else involved. Someone who distrbutes the ball. Come on people pay attention. When did everything start to fall? Answer. When our true point guard was traded for a shooter. So u tell me the solution is to go get more shooters. Who is gonna get them the rock? Truthfully Rip and Tayshaun shouldn't be touched. everyone else is expendable including Stuckey.

I'm sorry, I'm a Jazz fan and Koufos has shown me nothing. What makes you think he will be a great player for a long time? BTW, I'd rather see Okur leave than Boozer.

Hahaha I love it.. The fact that this writer comes out and says not nessecarily how bad Iverson is, but just how uncontrollable he is. Iverson used to be great player, recently not so good, and I think Ben Gordan does have the capability of being a great player. I don't know though if i want to be compared to Iverson, If i was Ben Gordan I would do what I can to change my image right away...

This is crappy "journalism." You don't interject your own opinions, i.e. saying that Gordon has become Iverson and that he has no conscience about taking shots. Save that crap for the blogs.
