Personal matter take Utah's Kirilenko back to Russia

“AndreiUtah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko(notes) is apparently back in his Russian homeland right about now, dealing with an undisclosed family matter, according to Deseret News.

While the team has excused the absence, it will mean that the 6'9" forward will miss two preseason games against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Clippers. He is supposed to return by Sunday's possible machup against he Los Angeles Lakers or Charlotte Bobcats.

Perhaps something is wrong with father-in-law Andrei Lopatov, who was on the Russian national basketball team for 14 seasons.

    Do you have any information that would lead you to believe that something is wrong with his father-in-law? Why offer that tidbit of information without substantiation? Is it pure conjecture?

    AK47 is not an overrated player.. he can be an all-star every year if the jazz could use him the right way he can play 3positions SG/SF/PF.. i think in 2007 against the lakers he got 19pts, 11rebs, 12asts, 11stls, 8blocks in a SINGLE GAME only.. after a knee injury his game changed.. he got a very versatile all-around game c'mon guyz u just hate him bcoz his russian..
