Parker back in Los Angeles, as a Clipper

The Los Angeles Clippers signed former Los Angeles Lakers guard Smush Parker on Wednesday for the remainder of the season.

Parker, 26, cleared waivers Wednesday afternoon, passed his physical and was signed to a prorated portion of the veteran's minimum salary for the Clippers' final 18 games. Parker is expected to be in uniform Friday, when the Clippers play the third game of their five-game trip, against the Atlanta Hawks.

After signing a two-year, $4.7 million contract with the Miami Heat over the summer as a free agent, Parker played in nine games this season. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Parker did not appear in a game with the Heat after an altercation Nov. 27 with a Miami parking attendant.

    Funny thing is he probably will play well for the clippers in order to get a better contract in the offseason. Smush is garbage. He had his chances to be a starting guard plenty of times and he always gets dumped.

    wow. it's amazing how the lakers made the playoffs back to back seasons in the west with this guy in the starting 5 as the point guard..simply amazing.

    The Smushcalade is back in town!
    Geek got game! Homeboy can dribble from Left to Right w/out looking at the ball and has unrivaled bounce pass skills from 7 to 15 feet. Word is that Smush has recently honed his pump fake to superhero status and has been working hard with a trainer on a 1 hr/day outlet regimen to improve homeboy's outlet passing. If handed over the keys, homeboy will revive the Clips, draw mad celebrity fans to Staples, and will blaze the Clippers to the show in '09.
    Too bad the Clips can't pick up Mad Dog this year . . . Clips would be contenders with Maddie!
    Anyways - Smushcalade can slam w/ both hands - dude got undisputed skillz. Ask yo mama, she'll tell ya' . . .
