Only a small chance Cassell will be dealt at deadline

Sam Cassell to the Boston Celtics. Cassell to the Dallas Mavericks. Or maybe to the Phoenix Suns. The Los Angeles Times reported there is interest in the veteran guard.

The trade scenarios involving the Los Angeles Clippers point guard are abundant and the rumors have swarmed faster in recent weeks with playoff-caliber teams possibly looking for a final piece to put them over the top.

While the Clippers have fielded calls on Cassell's availability and talks could increase leading up to the Feb. 21 trade deadline, the chances of Cassell being dealt, as of now, are small.

    who cares truly! The Clips don't have much to play for other than the future (they've been doing that since they first took the floor), but I'm sure they'll be looking for more than his value in return. The man is older than dirt!

    I've been a fan of his since he helped Houston win those championships in 93 and 94. Go to Boston and help KG get his! Clips have some compassion and enjoy your ruined season. Get a pick from it and come back strong with E. Brand.

    no no cassell is too old to come play for the celtics and I just don't he would fit not for nothing but the celtics are doing just fine without cassell or any other point guard whop on their way out pick up a young exciting player some who they can make or the other option is to get a vet point that has at least 3-4 good years left in the tank

    Sam Cassel rocks no matter what age he plays at. This guy can improve any team even the Celtics. Well almost any team. The Suns do NOT need him.

    Cassell for Pruitt, Powe and a 2nd round draft pick in 2012, or Cassell and cash/2nd round draft pick for Tony Allen

    clips should be able to receive a good young player or a 1st round pick in exchange, face it there season is over, its time to look at the futur when EB and Livingston come back...

    Sam cassel is not to old.... he had a 40 point game this season and shooting isnt everything, what he can bring to a team like the celtics is: experience( 2 rings), court vision, leadership, he's played with garnett, and ray allen, and can mentor rajon rondo

    Sam would help HUGE in beantown! This guy can still play, just look what he did the other night...Celtics need help with the PG spot, because Rondo has been hurt, and currently Eddie House is the starter. We all know E$ isnt a true PG, and neither is stumbling Tony Allen. Cassell would bring another VET we need who can hit big shots! Trust me, Sam i am..would mean Celtics in the Finals. Without him....i dont think they'll get over the hump.
