NBA - Sports Rumors

“EmekaHornets getting ready to deal some of its biggest names. With a 6-9 record, the team is pretty low in the standings so why not?

First it was reported that center Emeka Okafor(notes) was on the block and then another report came that pretty much the whole team was on the block except for Chris Paul(notes). Neither story was apparently true, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Team execs tell the paper that nobody on the team is getting moved right now. When the February trading deadline comes, things could be a lot different but the team apparently wants to stick with this group for a little bit and see what it can do.

could there be anyone who gets better with the mavs? trade dampier in 2 seconds for emeka! he can run the floor if he needs to. he has hands and can finish around the basket, he boards well, plays good defense, blocks shots, he doesnt have great post moves, but we dont need that. we need guy who can rebound, defend the paint, and catch and finish easy buckets around the rim. thats it. he is all that.

i think damp will bring in a little more than emeka because of that contract, but if theyare trying to move okafor, i hope the mavs make a play, if only howard wer healthy...howard for okafor, then damp in january or feb to a basement team's best player...

They should trade CP3 for a really good center. Now New Orleans has a great PG (forgot his name), and they can get ALOT for cp3.

Hornets management now know that its wasn't Byron Scott fault. during the off season, the Hornets didn't do something and making a big mistake in trading Chandler for Okafor a 6' 10" center?. Lamar Odum and Boozer..power forward positionscan outrebound Okafor.

The fact that you don't remember that "great PG's" name he can't be that good. And trading a guy that can lead a team for a big man is not smart. They need to get rid of Peja and sign somebody else for his spot that can actually stay healthy and consistently drain the shot. Yes the two rookies have been filling in nicely, but CP3 is the only hope this team has.

You people are crazy, dampier sucks so bad there aren't enough words in the english language to state the full extent. Okafor is 30 times better than that guy in every facet of the game. Doesn't really matter though cause dallas is simply over achieving. They are in no way an elite team, and have ZERO chance of going to the finals period!

Emeka would be good on a contending team. Let him play defense and rebound, and not have to worry about scoring. He would be a great fit on a team like the spurs, playing next to Duncan.
The Hornets need better wing players...They were stupid for firing Byron Scott, they will regret firing him.

DJ Kobe, wow, you got me there. Maybe I should change my name to OG Pierce or Grandmaster Perkins, or maybe even Notorious R.A.Y., and I will come up with the better witty one liners.

I just think with a tight end owner, there bound to lose at lease 5 players off there current roster with no good returns. They be the first team in the league with 8 players on there roster bye 2012.CP3 And David West is not going to be enough for 7th place in the west within the next 3 years.CP3 leaves and the turn into the Clippers over night! That's there future

Oh yeah, who in the hell said a 6'7 at best Okafor was better than a 7'1 Tyson Chandler? Why trade when the money was the same anyway, plus Okafor has more years on his deal left. This dude can barely catch that alley hoop from Chris Paul! LOL. They took away one of Chris Paul's best go-to guys. Damn be happy Coach Scott more than likely you'll be the head of the Lakers give or take two seasons
