After signing free agent Jamaal Magloire, the New Jersey Nets could still add another big man through a trade. A deal with the Indiana Pacers for Jermaine O'Neal is still a possibility.

does Jefferson know how to shoot...at people? if not, he doesn't fit in with Indy. i think JO is overrated but...if its Jeff for JO straight up...seems kind of like a bad deal for the pacers(which makes it that much more logical). for a guy that can play center, you'd think they'd get more...

Jefferson, decent player no baggage. JO well you know. JO is a gifted player though and playing with J Kidd and VC could become a truly great player

Lakers already said Bynum would not be included in a JO trade. Only a KG trade.
Holding out for KG. McHale has to unload that guy in the next 6 months, he won't get what he is worth, and the Lakers have one of the better deals out there. Besides, Bird is asking for way too much for JO.

I agree with #8. Why would you trade for a guy and put him in an overloaded position? (Dunleavy, Granger, Jefferson) Plus he gets hurt alot and is coming off ankle problems. Stupid trade for the Pacers
They should make another deal for Al Harrington. Don't they have a 1st round pick next year?

Someone will overpay for Jermaine O'Neal. I just hope that if the Lakers try to get him that they will try to keep Odom. Trade Bynum and Crittendom and maybe a future draft pick or something.

BTW, the Lakers are NOT getting KG, not through a trade at least. The Timberwolves will not trade their superstar to a team within their conference...not unless the Lakers offer them a killer deal. But when you look at the Lakers roster you cant see that happening. JO is a different story. Hes in a different conference and the Pacers are really trying to ship him out. The T-Wolves dont want to deal Garnett and will only do so when they get an offer they cant refuse...which wont come from the Lakers.

The nets are going to have to give a little more in the deal than just RJ alone. But RJ and next years first round pick and maybe even maybe Nachbar. RJ is awesome and if he goes to Indiana he could average 25 a night plus he plays great D. But, when you want to get a top 5 Big man your going to have to give up a lot.

RJ is the man. The Pistons should trade RIP for him straight up. When that guy was healthy the Nets were a completely different team. He shoots the mid range just as good and is a much stronger finisher and even slightly better defender and rebounder. Hen has had a few injuries but he is not likely to be an injury prone player.

Just saw the opposite report on ESPN... What would it take for "the Nets not to be interested" in JO? And then, what will the new rumor be about? Probably nothing. This rumor is in the same place as the "JO to LA" and KG to Phx. rumors.

This would be a good trade for the Nets to add another big body and have 1 of the best front court lineups in the league with O'neal and Magloire! Also it will alow Carter to go back to his dominate scoring self insted of worring about Jefferson getting enough touches like he did last season. I used the trade machine on ESPN and Jefferson, Jason Collins and Bernard Robinson would work salary wise but weather the Pacers would accept it is the question.

#21, dont you mean the best front court in the East*? That front court still couldnt handle the teams in the West.

I'd do it If I was New Jersey, you need another big man that is proven also if you give up Jefferson in the deal you still have Carter and Kidd then maybe Bostjan Nachbar might start, if not get some more minutes. Starting Lineup:
    C: Magloire
    PF: O'Neal
    SF: Nachbar
    SG: Carter
PG: Kidd That's a nice lineup that could make some noise in the east.

I don't see this trade happening, but who am I, really? Certainly not anyone in either team's front office. However, the Pacers have been known to make bone-headed moves in the recent past, so why not? Not that Jefferson is a scrub, far from it; it's just that unless they plan on moving (or sitting) a few of their wing players, the trade doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. J.O. would certainly be a helpful addition to the relatively weak frontcourt of the Nets though (regardless of the Magloire signing).

if nets trade Jefferson, they will have to put Bosjan Nabar at small forward. that's will become
J'Oneal, Kristic, Nabar, Vince Carter and Jason Kidd, back up: Magalone, Jason Collion, Sean Williams, Boon, Wright, Williams, Robinson.
The problem is the second unit seems like too weak, it full of big man, but those big man can't score, and only one back up PG, so what happen if there has injuries.
I don't think it will be a big trade.
by the way, it won't just cost Jefferson in the trade, I think the pacers will also ask for rookie Sean Williams and PG Maric Williams, because those two are young. the rest of nets line up are old player and can't score. Jason Collion, 2 point per game, but 6 million per year!?
I don't see the trade will work, unless Larry Bird is a real fool. Jefferson can't be the cornerstone of the team, he can be that stone for 1/3 season, but not the whole seaon.
