Sasha Vujacic can become a free agent at season's end, and Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson believes that's motivated the backup guard to improve his play this season.
Vujacic went into Wednesday's game averaging 8.4 points, which would be a career high for him if he maintains his pace through the end of the season.
"He's having a really good season at the end of his contract, there's no doubt about that," Jackson said. "I hate for that to be a motivating factor for a player, but with Sasha it's maturity more than anything else. Just learning the game."

Both he (Sasha) and Kobe can swing to cover big guards/small fwd's and with Luke struggling to find his shot Sasha has been a real boost. I'd prob move Luke before Sasha if it comes down to that.

I hope Sasha doesn't pull a luke walton on us next season if we sign him to a nice contract....luke had all careers highs in his contract season last year...now he is blowing away easy lay-ups....
