Sasha Vujacic

Sasha Vujacic can become a free agent at season's end, and Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson believes that's motivated the backup guard to improve his play this season.

Vujacic went into Wednesday's game averaging 8.4 points, which would be a career high for him if he maintains his pace through the end of the season.

"He's having a really good season at the end of his contract, there's no doubt about that," Jackson said. "I hate for that to be a motivating factor for a player, but with Sasha it's maturity more than anything else. Just learning the game."

the Spurs will have a ton of money to spend as a replacement to Finley. PLus the Spurs love those foreign players. More coachable & team players

I like him, but he needs to relax. He rushes some of his three pointers and sometimes he's inconsistent because of it. I love it when he drives to the basket though. No way would he leave the Lakers.

3rd! The machine is staying here so that Kobe can beat him down with his verbal abuse. Good player but kind of annoying at times with his crazy shots.

I would question resigning these guys that all of a sudden have a good season in their contract year, since that seems to be the only thing motivating them to be consistent. I predict Sasha will slip back into normal, mediocre play once he signs a big contract.

the machine is an important part of the offense and i donn't think tha fact that he's going to be a free agent has anything to do with him playing the way he is. the machine plays hard everygame.

I think I've had that figured that out Shawn babe lol. I have a history of making disrespectful guys clueless by punking them in the past. Just ask Kyle, he'll tell you the same thing. Trust me hun, I'll be fine if he wants to start with me.

So Kyle was right the whole time, this Texas guy has no class at all. FYI hun, we beat Utah 3-1 this season. So why are you saying we can't beat Utah? And we split GS 2-2. So you tell me how we can't beat both those teams?? And no I don't want to hear that from you "KOBE"S A BALLHOG, CUZ HE CAN'T PASS OR PLAY D". I want a good valuable reason why we can't beat both those teams..

Sasha has really grown into his role, I'd really like to see him remain in Laker gear. During this current injury plague the Lakers are facing, Phil has used a 3 guard (KB, Sasha, Farmar or Fish) line-up a lot.
Both he (Sasha) and Kobe can swing to cover big guards/small fwd's and with Luke struggling to find his shot Sasha has been a real boost. I'd prob move Luke before Sasha if it comes down to that.
TEXAS-WAY - Do you have anything to contribute other than insulting comments?

sup Gardenia....what did u think about last nights game.....the lakers did not come to play ball at all....u could just see it in them....that was probably the most sloppiest game i have seen all season...good thing about the lakers is that they always bounce back from losses like that quick...
I hope Sasha doesn't pull a luke walton on us next season if we sign him to a nice contract....luke had all careers highs in his contract season last year...now he is blowing away easy lay-ups....

It was pretty horrible last night babe. Gotta be ready even againest sub .500 teams. We just gave that away last night. We got careless, that's all. and like Kyle said last night while I was talking to him on myspace, they wernt going to the basket and getting the opponents in foul trouble. If we do that most of the game. we'll win like 98% of the time. You should have seen the place I worked at last night. There was a lot of yelling while the game was on lol

lol...yeah i know...plus J-Rich was killing us in the paint...we really need one of our centers back ASAP......i though Mbenga did a good job last nite, i wonder why Phil took him out...he should have played Mbenga and Turiaf together, which would have allowed Odom to move to the SF....
