Lakers' Gasol could return Friday

“PauLos Angeles Lakers big man Pau Gasol(notes) has got something going on with his right hamstring. He had a sonogram on it over the weekend and an MRI this week. The results were sent to his personal doctor and his parents back in Spain, according to the Los Angeles Times. Before you call Gasol a mama's boy, you should remember that his mother is a doctor and his father is a hospital administrator.

It's looking like it's not going to hold the big guy up for much longer. He apparently had a "pretty good workout" yesterday. He'll miss his fifth game in a row tonight but he reportedly might be back in action on Friday against his former team, the Memphis Grizzlies.

Coach Phil Jackson isn't saying jack about it, though: "We'll see," he said. "We hope he can get a practice in this week."

i think pau is as important to the lakers as Kobe, we'll see what this team can really do once he comes back, then odom goes to the 2nd unit and they are an all-world squad...that being said i will root against them unless they play boston or SA...go mavs...

Actually, it's not Kobe, nor Fisher that needs Gasol in the line-up, it's Lamar Odem. With Gasol, and Bynum in the game at the same time, Lamar gets to play the 3 spot, therefore creating a mismatch at the SF position, allowing him to penetrate inside, and kick the ball out or in. Watch past Laker clips, and you'll see what I mean.

Without Pau, the Lakers are having issues and it has become noticeable. Although they seem to work through the issues, the league will start to notice a big difference in their game once he gets back.

Most of these Yahoo writers are str8 tools! Just read how the majority of the articles mention "sources say". just like that cheap-shop artist Adrian Wojnarowski. Today he's telling how Chris Paul should be vocal in asking for help. Tomorrow he'll be saying how Paul should play, he's not a gm, Players can't evaluate talent...you know...all the things that he criticized Jordan for all the time. What a douche

No problem at all , just like last year....Morons said lakers could barely beat crappy teams......Yet when the lakers played good teams like, the Nuggets, Utah, and Orlando they thrashed them all....Even Celebrated on the magics own court in 5 games... LMAOOOO same ol chit as last year.............Lakers are Vipers led by a Black mamba.....they will Strike when other teams are not expecting it.

The triangle is at its best when gasol is playing. Bynum and Gasol is an awesome combo of two 7 footers. Even Rasheed and Garnett will not match up these two.

Pau should take all the time he wants to get back into 100% shape NOW instead of later on in the season. Just come back when he's ready.
P.S. And next summer NO MORE EXTRA BASKETBALL!!! ONLY R&R

Some f*cking IDIOT named rstealer said that Gasol should have gotten into shape in the offseason......if the IDIOT new any better, he'd know that Gasol was winning a World Championship with Spain.....yesterday on 710 ESPN they had a doctor on the radio and he was saying that the reason for the tear is due to wear and tear and lack of rest......I guess the IDIOT once again doesn't know what the f*ck he is talking about......

This is a great time without GAS HOLE, puts some hair s on their chests, and takes some hairs off of our heads,
lakes have never, ever , played well against lower level teams,
and those teams always play their best game of yr-I would rather have quite a few close games at the start,
seeing what they be made of, couldnt have ever played any worse Against Dallas,
but, they were 33-3 against Dallas in LA, so , damn, fn odds were against the lakes, and so was the lakes
I enjoyed seeing them lose, gotta get that feeling, so they dont like it, I still dont know what PHILDO sees in LW, KB gives him the finest pass, he fn blows it, right at the hoop too, should have banked the fn shot, but what a fn duck......
    MORRRRRRRIIIIIISSSSSSOOOOON-
led the lakes summer league team in scoring,
and now, he can barely spell scoring,
cause he isnt close to doing any....
