The Los Angeles Lakers aren't even in the Rocky Mountains yet, but they're already on a high, having comfortably won the opener of their first-round playoff series with the Denver Nuggets. They stood up to the Nuggets' strong-armed approach in Game 1, displayed a passing attack with a whiff of Showtime, and were presented a day later with some positive big-picture thoughts by Kobe Bryant the Los Angeles Times reported.

Bryant continued on Monday to compliment Mitch Kupchak, saying the Lakers' general manager had gone from an "F to an A-plus," and also added some colorful texture to his thoughts on the franchise. Bryant said that he was "absolutely" open to finishing his career with the Lakers and that he had not thought about terminating his contract, although he declined to speculate when asked if he would indeed opt out after next season.

"I love our team here," Bryant said. "I love what we're doing here. We have a great relationship, we have great chemistry. We have all the pieces in here to make a run for a long time."

eddie s- kobe also wanted to get rid of lamar, bynum and wanted to leave the team for other western conf teams like phx and dallas. so he got rid of obviously bad players- the team was still expected to do horribly by everyone this year and they managed to suprise everyone (even themselves) before the trade for gasol. classless- maybe, but uninformed i am not. he's got rapist wit.

I really hope Kobe ends his career with the Lakers?!! Its hard to picture him anywhere else! But then we never thought Shaq would leave either?! I hate it when a player is with a team for years and then leaves! But I'm still down for Kobe for MVP! and with the LAKERS!!......4LYF!!!

When is Ariza coming back? Enough with all the old news. Jackson has clearly stated that Bynum will not start anytime soon, so lets move on.

c'mon now. Just watch the game and enjoy the degree of the compitiveness of this Lakers team. Who cares who did what and how. That's what they're paid for milions of $$$$$$$$ just to play the game of Basketball. Let's give everybody's credit on the Lakers team for being on the top for their hard works. Kobe can't make it alone, not even Phil Jackson. They're no superman.

When you trade for Kwame Brown you get way worse than an F. But, to get rid of that dead weight and get Pao Gasol, Kobe's right.
Let's not forget, it wasn't just Shaq leaving. How many other players were also sent away with Shaq, you know, the ones that played and helped the team win when fatso was hurt throughout his 8 years in Los Angeles.
    Go Lakers!

No Doubt KOBE IS THE BEST MVP ALL THE WAY. But he can also be at his worst he needs to keep his opinions to himself. His comments are made to sound like he is being nice saying how kupchak went from a F TO AN A. But in reality he is just insulting his superiors ( not superior as athletes I am talking about Team Management ). To me he is just trying to justify his poor behaviour from the past. For the simple minds and there is a lot of them here it would sound like he is complementing Mitch but in reality he is saving his own face for past actions. As for Kobe he is the # 1 player in the NBA anyone can see that he is a true MVP this year and really past years too. He just needs tact when talking about his Management (TRUE RESPECT)
