“ChrisNew York Knicks point guard Chris Duhon(notes) has been a bust. Coach Mike D'Antoni couldn't get enough of him before last season started and now he's stuck with him till the end of this season since the 1-6 team basically has no other starting-quality point guards.

One of the knocks on Duhon has been poor leadership and he apparently tried to take a step up in that department about a week ago when he told MSG Network that players were "joking around" too much when in the layup line in practice. Well, that steamed up a few Knicks, apparently, and Al Harrington(notes) was one of them, according to the New York Post. So now D'Antoni has a team of guys annoyed with the point guard who already wasn't bringing it. It's going to be a long season.

Wonder if team bigwig Donnie Walsh is regretting not signing Ramon Sessions(notes) this off-season. Walsh wouldn't do it because he supposedly didn't want to tie up any money for next summer when everybody and their brother becomes a free agent, particularly LeBron James(notes), Chris Bosh(notes), Dwyane Wade(notes), and Amare' Stoudemire.

Knicks really need to get it together! Duhon has looked bad, cut him to 24 minutes a game, have Hughes run point for 12 min. and Toney Douglas run it for 12. Something like that.
Duhon was good the first 1/2 of last season but lost it and does not appear to be getting it back.... I miss that Duhon (who played ok)

For the record Duhon is averaging 7.4 points, 6.6 assists, and 3 TO's a game. Not as horrible as this article makes it out to be. Plus, we are only 6-7 games into the season. Save it for midseason

Coach D is stuck with a team that plays no D and has no O. D. Lee is perhaps the best player so feed him the ball 20+ times a game and turn him into Bosh. Illson is nice but not a star, that roster makes people laugh and makes them sad. If you think Lebron will leave CLE to play with less talent in New York then he doesn't care about winning at all.

Ramone Sessions sucks. He wasn't worth money. I'd rather have one season with Duhon than be stuck with four seasons of Sessions.

Don't tell anyone but coach Mike D'Antoni is a bust too.... did anyone watch the Knicks Friday nite vs Cleveland??? Hard to believe a franchise that once prided itself on the strong defense it played and what they showed on Friday...
And I'm not too happy with Donnie Walsh either... what is he doing??? oh wait... he brought in Al Harrington.

Wade won't go to the Knicks. He said he has no intention on leaving Miami, particularly the South Beach lifestyle. Bosh, please come to Dallas. Lebron doesn't have much of a choice if he wants to go to a contending team.

Who is donnie walsh trying to fool giving us fans a team of players no one else wants i guess he wants to set a record for team losses this year, cutting down on salaries for this kind on team he should cut the ticket price in half.next year when he doesn't get any superstars he will say well at least we tried. he then have a team of players each needing their own basketball

Let's see. Point guard performance is dependent on everyone else buying into what you're doing. We've got a perennial do-nothing named Al Harrington, basically another Tim Thomas, who gets upset when his lack of professional focus during warm-ups, taking NO time to get yourself into game / winner mentality (think about your opponent, the challenges that he faces), but rather are goofing off the whole time, thus basically starting the game cold.
And somehow Duhon's the problem for questioning pre-game focus rituals. And in fact, it falls back on him that Harrington and the others are upset?
Does this team remind anyone of the pre-ewing knicks with Rory Sparrow, Darryl Walker, Len Bannister, Pat Cummings, Ernie Grunfeld, Bill Cartwright (occasionally), Andre Thornton? Except those guys were 1000x more lovable than these losers.
where's Bernard King when we need him?

C-Note, I agree, Duhon isn't a bad PG and had a decent season last year too, his first action as a starting PG of his career after being a role player off the bench in Chicago after he left Duke. I do agree with the article too in that he really is the only legit option they have as a PG. Lil Nate, Hughes, and Douglas are all SG's, none of them have the pass-first mentality, and they shouldn't. Those 3 are at their best when they are aggressive on the offensive end. The Knicks made a big mistake this offseason not getting a legit veteran backup for Duhon. It was an obvious issue, and they flat out ignored it. They should bring in someone sooner than later to help this big need area. No reason just to throw this season away waiting for the big free agent frenzy next year.

Bumper D, I can see you know jack SHlT about the Knicks at all. Iverson? Yeah, just what we need is another useless piece of garbage. I myself do not want LeBrom here in NY, the nets can have him. I want Wade and Chris Bosh any day over LeBron. We need to A get rid of Duhon, thats a fact B Rid Curry and the rest of those creeps that are getting paid to do nothing at all for the past 2-3 years. We need to have people that want to play, need to play, will try harder to make sure they play. Not this contract grabbing the Knicks did with that other loser Isiah. So in other words New York, Keep Lee, Robinson and Harrington and maybe even Milicic for he does come to play and the Italian dude and rid the rest. Me and my grandmother are free to sign contracts.

This is just the nail in the coffin, yet another reason why the Knicks are perennial losers, and why Donnie Walsh should never have control over personnel. Yes, he might be a bean-counting savant when it comes to keeping a team in the black, but he has no clue as to how to build a squad. Unfathomable how, after offering Jason Kidd 3yrs/$25mil and getting rejected, the Knicks couldn't even offer Sessions a long-term deal for 1/3rd of that, or roughly $3 mil per, and still have money left over for Big Fish like LeBron, Wade, or Bosh (for his part, Sessions was foolish to demand a multi-year deal, given that he could have probably made up the difference financially in 2010 by signing a one-year deal with NY, blowing up, and then hitting the FA market, where there will be a dearth of quality starting point guards, and he would be the big name on the list – thanks to Rondo’s recent multi-year deal with Boston).
Then there’s the fact that NY has no draft pick in 2010, thanks to the Stephon Marbury trade, and did nothing this year to either weather that storm, or induce any players to want to come to NY. With 7 major players lost to FA, including Duhon, this team is going to be decimated and bare-bones. Yes, they have the money to spend, but who will really want to come to a team with nothing, in a worse situation than wherever he’s playing now, just to be in NY? This team is D.O.A. this season, and a disgrace to the NBA for seasons to come.

They are over rated and if they are any good ala G Hill or Boozer they are hurt or [profane] to much.
The KNICKS needed to get Curry thats all they should have gone and got him or my brother he is a junior down in NJ and has better shooting skills come on KNICKS i really can't watch them anymore im a fan from of Ewing and Oakley dare i say bring back Marc Jackson he is third in assists.

I don't think that anybody should be very serious about any of these top notch Free Agents going to NY. The Knicks have become the laughing stock of the entire league. There doesn't seem to be any hope in sight for this organization or this team. Who the heck wants to play for them?! The first thing that we all have to ask ourselves is this: Which one of these Free agents will be the first to sign with the knicks? I truly believe that non of these FAs wants to be the first to sign with them in hopes that they'll be able to sign up another. In order for them to sign two FAs ( which is what it will probably take to bring back any respectability to this team) they're going to have to sign them at the same time and be in constant contact with both of them throughout the process so that both are aware of each other. Any of these FAs is going to want some kind of guarantee that they're not the only one signing with them reagrdless of how much money they can give them. Lebron James is already on record as stating that he's not just going to sign up with the team that can offer him the most money just because they can. The team's roster will play a big part in his decision making process too. The rest of the FAs will probably do the same, especially with so many teams under the cap this coming summer. Players will have a lot more options this summer and it will take more than money to sign them.
