Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest is an ideal short-term solution for a playoff-bound club. The Denver Nuggets, who tried to obtain Artest two years ago, should be interested.

In return, Kings GM Geoff Petrie is thought to be interested in a package consisting of young players and veterans with expiring contracts, including forwards Linas Kleiza and Eduardo Najera. Or he could simply allow Artest to complete his contract and pursue a sign-and-trade during the offseason.

stupid.... just trade bibby for some player (not marbury, carter or iverson) and you have a good team.

AI, Melo, KMart, Camby and Artest... that team would be dangerous if, and thats a BIG if, Artest can learn to give up his scoring numbers to AI & Melo and play a bit of PF. The Nuggets would be an impenetrable fortress with Camby in the paint and Artest harassing the opposing team's go-to guy... the guy has issues but there's no other player in the NBA who can lockdown 1 to 4 like Ron Artest.

I dont think the Kings should move artest. At the moment he was been a big part of their winning streak. But at the same time. I would lovee to see Francisco Garcia get more minutes!

They better not trade Kleiza. He is way too cool to trade. And he works for peanuts.

gaining artest will be a good move for denver....actually, i think this is a good move for both teams...kings need to free up cap room for the young stars on the team and future free agents....denver needs artest, but not so much for defense as everyone thinks....denver is one of the best defensive teams in the nba already....they have camby, martin, and iverson, who are great defensive players....i think denver need more help on offense...even with ai and melo, they need artest...

i like this deal if it goes down AND if Ron-Ron realizes there is only one ball, and AI and melo will be getting it most of the time. artest bring s solid d and toughness to a team that already has camby, they would be tough, but both guys mentioned in the trade for denver are sparkplugs, so they might be sacrificing a little team chemistry.

Leinas Kleiza is better than Melo, Better than Iverson, & Better than Artest. Adding Najera would destroy the Nuggets, and make the Kings contenders.

number 10 i can't believe that you said AI is a great defensive player. He doesn't play defense he gets all his steals in the passing lane. he's one of the great scorers in the game but definately not a great defender

I think that Artest can really fortify Nuggets' defense a lot
But I suggest that Nuggets remains Kleiza
because of his three-point ability which Nuggets is lack of

Kleiza's 3-point ability is highly-overrated. I love the trade but i would rather see beno & artest for kleiza and najera. That would give us a solid 3-point threat and a lock down defender and make us a legit contender.

capp room. you guys are crazy!!!!!!!!! Artest is very cheap. the kings can actually re\sign ron for alot of money. as soon as they let go of k\thomas and rahim. those 2 bench players both make more that artest and thats crazy!!!!!!! the worst part of all this is that the kings got these 2 worthless high paid player and got rid of webber. i hope artest stays. if the kings do trade artest, I hope the kings get a very good power foward like Zach Randolf, and with david lee. thats the kind of trade the kings have wanted all season but the knicks wont budge.

by the way, i think AI is a very good dfensive player. i m not a nuggets fan but when i do watch them i see AI stealing the ball at least once per game and scoring it in the other end uncontested. and thats in a 1 on 1 full court press that AI loves to do on 99% percent of the ball possessions

talk about poison in the locker room. I think the nuggs should let their players mesh with each other, i mean they haven't even played a full season togther.

artest looks frightened in this picture.....Kleiza has been money lateley for the nugggets playing in place of melo who has been hurt...i think he is a solid bench guy onxce melo is back.....DO THE NUGGETS REALLY NEED ANOTHER SUPERSTAR? Lets be serious tho the deal could happen seeing they are in a rebuilding stage (building around martin).
nuggets don't need more offense or defense....what they need to do is keep the team they have....they are playing great ball....once they get melo back to 100% they will be a team to reckon with in playoffs.
doesn't matter anyways CELTICS all the way kids!!!!
    GO BIG 3
