Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that 20-year-old Ricky Rubio(notes), who is currently playing pro in his Spanish homeland, doesn't want to play for the team that drafted him fifth overall in the 2009 draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves. A source to the Times said the guard is much more interested in joining the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics or Miami Heat whenever he finally comes to the states.
Now Wolves president of basketball operations David Kahn tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the Times story is "much ado about nothing" and "not worthy of a response."
Kahn responds to it anyway, saying he is "absolutely" sure that Rubio will be on the Wolves' roster next season, the Star Tribune reports.
