Josh Smith says Hawks will shock the world, Celtics

Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith has said his team is "going to shock the world" by upsetting the Celtics. Teammate Josh Childress has said he doesn't think "there's any position where you can say we are severely undermanned against them."

The Celtics were 3-0 with an average margin of victory of 14.2 points in the regular season against Atlanta, which is making its first playoff appearance since 1999. The Celtics aren't getting caught up in the Hawk talk.

"Whatever they got to do to get themselves motivated up for a series," Pierce said. "Our team? We don't have any problem with that. We're going to play regardless."

    Remember; just a bunch of hawk talk...no way you will defeat the celtics. hey "josh smith" why don't you get ready to prey on a vacation or restaurant soon because thats whats gonna happen to you and the hawks.vacation too soon.

    way to go josh smith you made it entertaining all the way up until halftime when everyone realizes that atlanta does not have a chance! the good thing is i believe atlanta could shock the world if they were in NIT tournament!

    THIS IS HOW YOU COME OUT AND PLAY HAWKS! This is a brillaint move! they are a team below .500 and playing the 42+ games over .500 celtics? You better come out and say you are gona win! The hawks all know they don't stand a chance. Might as well come out with the most confidence you can "imagine"

    You know looking at the Hawks roster, there really is no reason why they are as bad as they are. You need to take his statement for what it is. Everyone expects the Hawks to get swept my a margin of 20+ points, so by shock that means the Hawks will win a game or force KG to play 40 minutes and keep the games close.
    BTW: The Celtics are so dominant that KG has only played more then 40 minutes 5 games this season and they are 4-1.

    Josh Smith is garbage. He's athletic, but has no jump shot. Leave him wide open from the top of the key, and don't let him penetrate and get to the rim to slam, and he'll throw up goose eggs. Horford is good, Williams is decent, but other then that, the Hawks are trash as a team. Josh Smith just needs to shut up and worry about travel plans for the offseason..cause he is garbage.

    What do he have to lose? However you don't want the C's mad at you. I love the Hawks but beat the Celtics..... they couldn't even stop Sam Cassell and he's like 65yrs old.........jst make it competitive Josh that's all we want JUST DON'T GET SWEPT

    Hey it could happen...I can see why they are trash talking. Lets see, Rondo is averging 5.7 points and 6.7 ast with only 1.3 reb against the hawks. Kevin G is lighting them up, so if they can find a night or two where his shot is not falling.R.Allen has 15, 1.7, 2.3, nothing spectacular. Paul has 22.3, 5 reb, and 2.3 ast. If they keep Paul off the line and KG's shot is off they could have a chance.
    Al Horford plays well at 15.7 pts and 9.7 reb. Bibby gets 15, 8,6 . And Josh Smith is Josh Smith, he needs to take a better shot selection drive and hit Horford or pass out to Bibby. Hes not shooting to well against Bos. J.J has 15, 5 and 4.
    If Childress steps it up the Hawks could have a chance. The Hawks have more players how can get hot. So if KG is off and Paul gets less then 20, with every one else averging what they had durring the season it could happen.
    But doubt it,lol......GO BULLS!!!!!!!!
