“IsiahIt appears that any friendship that Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas once had is over. Johnson says all sorts of unpleasant stuff about Thomas in his new book, "When the Game was Ours."

According to the New York Post, Johnson's book alleges that Thomas went around the league spreading the rumor and trying to find proof that Magic was gay or bisexual after Johnson announced that he had HIV. Magic admits in the book that he went out of his way to blackball Thomas off of the initial Dream Team in 1992 that went on to win the gold medal at the Olympics in Barcelona.

Perhaps Magic felt so bad about that that he recommended Thomas to former Madison Square Garden President Steve Mills to take over the New York Knicks back in 2004. Of course, that ended up being a fiasco for both Thomas and the Knicks.

Thomas tells SI.com that he and Magic used to go dinner along with Herb Williams whenever Johnson came to New York and stopped in at a Knicks game. Those days are over, fellas.

Iv'e always been a "magic" fan & it was his prerogative to write this book......in the past there was bad blood between he & thomas ,obviously they had moved past this and were able to communicate and become friendly toward one another,so i say that magic should of had the tact to advice thomas about the book & the offensive comments that were made about him.

while Magic is very respected and should be, I'm wondering why he publicized these comments 18 years later. I mean history has been so bad for Thomas and Magic Johnson has had his life turn around since people became more aware of how HIV was contacted from those who were positive. Thomas has had a rough many years and it seems like Johnson got his payback for kicking Thomas off the Dream Team.
I have to question the motive it's clear that Johnson wanted the book he's involved with to sell well. So he includes some comments that could make this a best seller.
You also have to realize Back then people weren't aware of the virus AIDS it was a taboo. For someone to look into how it was contacted and assume it with a typical stereotype at that time. I honestly don't know why these comments have come out now except to make some money?

There was a playoff game where Isiah kind of went after Magic from behind and pummeled him repeatedly in the head. At the time it really look weird, them purportedly best friends and all.....

At halftime of game #5 of the 2009 NBA finals Magic Johnson said "Kobe should give all of his playoff earnings, & any award he wins to pau Gasol, Because without Gasol the Lakers don't win a championship, & Kobe doesn't even play in the finals"
    Magic is obviously a RACIST!
Everyone knows that Magic & issiah were lovers.

Well actually... We all know Isiah is a complete knuckle-head. But Zeke -- the player -- beat every single one of those Dream Team members in earning his back-to-back rings with D-town. But you don't play for a team that has gone down in history being known as the "Bad Boys" without being a little bit of an [profane].

to the idiot who wrote "isiah was not all that...." come one, he was one the greats of all time at his position and you can't deny that. Yes, he's a prick, but don't let that get in the way of what he did on the court.

If you live in Chicago, knucklehead, show some love for the baddest point guard to come out of the state. I too am a Chicago native and was there when Isaih, Doc Rivers, and Ray McCoy were considered top guards nationaly. And if you ask any of the historians, Isaih is one of the baddest point guards to play the game. John Stockton will tell you that, he gave'em almost 40 after being snubbed by Magic and his hinchmen. I'm glad Magic has shown himself to be so cheesey. I respect Magic's game but he has hollywood money all over him, reproducing his image, marketing him. He shouldn't have to resort to this for a buck. Bird didn't even have a bad word to say about Isaih.

Man Im an LA native and Magic is one of the craftiest businessmen on the face of this earth. He would sell his mother and kids to turn a profit, so why not sell out friend. Look at how he sold out all those WAMU customers! That fake a s s smile of his has been hustling people for the past 15yrs or so. If they write a big enough check Magic will sell it to anybody with money to waste on it!

The Knicks haven't been crap since Pat and Starks retired. Don't blame ALL that mess on Isaih. To his defense, he seems to have been too loyal to bad players. I don't know why Doc picked up Starbury after he buried his homeboy.
