“MichaelThe Miami Heat has gotten off to a pretty good start with a 5-1 record, but the team is showing second-year pro Michael Beasley(notes) the bench when it comes to the fourth quarter, according to the Miami Herald.

The guy who was the second overall pick in last year's draft and had to go to rehab this past summer to help him handle the pressure is apparently having trouble playing full games so the team isn't allowing him to touch the floor in the fourth quarter.

His defense, focus, and foul trouble are all parts of the problem, according to the Miami Herald, and head coach Erik Spoelstra has been trying to find a way to help him through it, including lots of talks and a one-on-one practice on a day when everybody else had off.

    First! *ha ha*
I like the Heat and I believe with DWade trusting his teammates the team can accomplish some things, But I think Eric Spoelstra's a moron and I don't think the Heat will get past the second round of the playoffs under him. He should've started Beasley last season. And he absolutely NEVER should've played Beasley at small forward cause that's not his position. With Jermaine O'Neil playing well, Beasely's improvement, and Wade's greatness this team can accomplish some things. The one thing they do need is some back court help for Wade, which they should be seeking before the trade deadline.

to me, the heats are 1 SG/SF backup away from being a contender, the eddie house/jason terry/JR smith type who can provide consistent spark right off the bench, but they are also one injury away from being a lottery team, given that Q-Rich and J'Oneal are extremely injury-prone.

LOL! you can tell that no Miami Heat fans have commented on here yet. The truth is, the Heat are the most surprising team of the season... Haslem should play in the clutch because he always comes through, whether it is a key rebound or a defensive play. Beasley is better as a starter because his production off of the bench is inconsistent... Haslem almost never makes a mistake..... J.O has been looking good, so has Q-Rich... I do believe this team is capable of beating any team on any given night. They are giving Wade more of a reason to trust them.

whoa... beasley is not a bust at all.. do you know how athletically gifted beasley is? hes freakin 6-10 and is pretty quick and mobile for a 6-10. he just needs to work on his defense. he can shoot 3s, mid range, and he sure can score inside. even wade said that beasley is much much better than him when he entered the nba.

What a moron! Beasley is a Beast. He's only 20. He never had to play defense in college & Miami's first priority is Defense. He'll be one of the reasons Wade will stay in Miami.

Wade is jealous of Beasley????? the MORON who had the utter stupidity to type that is a Fu@#ing RETARD!!! Wade wants Beasley to improve as he knows that a good Beasley along with him will attract big names like LEBRON or BOSCH or even both. Could you imagine the run of titles a starting five of Wade, Lebron, Bosch, Beasley and chalmers or any other 5th guy would win?? but wait Wade is Jealous of a Beasley that CANT carry his dirty jockstrap........................Jarell did your parents have any normal retards or are they all as idiodic as YOU!!!!

Wade, Lebron and Bosh on the same team, huh. Only possible of one of them agrees to a less-than-max contract, which is unlikely, since they're all very young. if they all get max contracts, which is 30% of the cap, that leaves you with 10% for the rest of the team. let's say beasley is generous and settles for 6M per year, which is 10% of the cap. the rest of the players you'll get for the team will be from the crap shoot. that ain't gonna win a championship.
and secondly, coaches award minutes to players who do well in practice. you don't breeze through practice and suddenly you're starting or playing in crunch time. coaches aren't idiots. they just look like they are coz they get fired so quickly.

Beasley Is No Where Near A Bust How You Gonna Call A 20 Yr A Bust. Hes Obviously Still Developing. In Another Year Or 2 He'll Be Lights Out. I Also Read That Some 1 Said Wade Would Leave Because Of The Young Team He Has And Would Rather Go To The Bulls Instead Wtf... Y Would You Leave A Team With Potential Then To Go To A Team That Has Players In There Prime Who Still Dont Make The Playoffs Every Yr. I Kno You Bulls Fans Are Lookin For Another Jordan But Your Not Gonna Get Wade. Maybe You And The Knicks Can Fight Over Lebron Like A Bunch Of School Girls Even Thou I Think You'll Stay But I Dont Really Kno. We've Made The Playoffs Most Of The Time Since Having Wade.. And We Made A Really Good Comeback From Going Really Bad To Playoff To Now A Good Team But Next Yr We'll Be Really Good Hands Down. I See Chalmers, Wade, Beasley, Stadimire, O'Neal, Haslem, Arroyo, Richardson, Cook & Another Player Who Can Score Off Tha Bench Thats A Nasty Squad
