The Miami Heat has gotten off to a pretty good start with a 5-1 record, but the team is showing second-year pro Michael Beasley(notes) the bench when it comes to the fourth quarter, according to the Miami Herald.
The guy who was the second overall pick in last year's draft and had to go to rehab this past summer to help him handle the pressure is apparently having trouble playing full games so the team isn't allowing him to touch the floor in the fourth quarter.
His defense, focus, and foul trouble are all parts of the problem, according to the Miami Herald, and head coach Erik Spoelstra has been trying to find a way to help him through it, including lots of talks and a one-on-one practice on a day when everybody else had off.

I like the Heat and I believe with DWade trusting his teammates the team can accomplish some things, But I think Eric Spoelstra's a moron and I don't think the Heat will get past the second round of the playoffs under him. He should've started Beasley last season. And he absolutely NEVER should've played Beasley at small forward cause that's not his position. With Jermaine O'Neil playing well, Beasely's improvement, and Wade's greatness this team can accomplish some things. The one thing they do need is some back court help for Wade, which they should be seeking before the trade deadline.

and secondly, coaches award minutes to players who do well in practice. you don't breeze through practice and suddenly you're starting or playing in crunch time. coaches aren't idiots. they just look like they are coz they get fired so quickly.
