The Miami Heat is believed to be preparing a sign-and-trade offer for Los Angeles Clippers forward Elton Brand, recognizing the need to supplement No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley to appease superstar Dwyane Wade, who can become an unrestricted free agent in 2010.

    Not a good look for the Clips...they just agreed to terms with B.D., now if they sign Brand they'll be a serious contender in the already stellar West. They don't need Marion and the Heat aren't gonna trade Beasley. Keep E.B., pair him with B.D. and run em with Hulk Hogan at Center and young studs Eric Gordon and Al Thornton at the 2 and 3. Real exciting lineup with Tim Thomas and Cat comin' off the bench.

    Clips Have Baron Davis. They'll make the playoffs but not the championship. Better than nothing. Keep Brand or send him to the LAKERS! wo0t

    I hope the Heat make this happen. EB is a beast in the post, he would be a perfect fit for Miami along Wade and Beasley. I guess they would have to let Marion go, but if that what it takes so be it. The only concern is Brand durability coming out of an 8 game season...

    it'll make the heat a leaderless version of the Suns- and without chemistry.

    people- the heat do not need to trade anyone to get Brand. Understand? This is about a free agent signing with whomever they want. The clips get nothing if they lose Brand. comprende?
