Pau Gasol

Pau Gasol is out indefinitely because of a moderate ankle sprain, perhaps putting the Los Angeles Lakers' drive to stay atop the Western Conference on hold as well. With the margin of error in the West already slimmer than slim, the Lakers will be without a true post presence Sunday against Houston and probably the rest of their trip against other top Western teams the Los Angeles Times reported.

Gasol was hurt Friday against New Orleans after landing on Vladimir Radmanovic's foot while cutting through the lane early in the first quarter. X-rays revealed a moderate sprain. After today's game against Houston (45-20), the Lakers play Dallas (43-23) on Tuesday and Utah (44-24) on Thursday before returning home to play Seattle (16-50) on Friday. The Lakers (45-20) are tied with Houston for first in the West.

"Pau's out for sure for the Houston game, most likely out for the rest of the trip, but we don't really want to say that for sure," Lakers spokesman John Black said. "He'll be reevaluated in two or three days. It's not great, but it's not horrible."

I'm a LA Lakers fan, so far gasol is out for 3 games. LA Lakers must play more defense especially for the Rockets. Go lakers, go go go. You can make this to the top!!!

Whatta' shame... not on the Lakers, or Gasol, either...NOPE, the real shame is that Yahoo still allows the dot.-.com krappp to still show-up here, in these forums... Someday, I hope to see stuff actually posted in these boxes here, that will surely tell others of a web-page that resembles a legitimate "trash-can" web site, where everyone can go to see 'Soul-Rich-Mate' rest in peace at the bottom of that trash can...
Delete, block, & treat like a virus... Can't wait for society to be rid of the trash... Thank God !!!

rockets keep playing bad teams and the good teams that they do play have injured stars, making them almost on the same level as the bad teams. this win streak isn't legit and should be erased from the record books.

Eric D~ The Laker lovers can't even come to grips with the fact Kobe would ditch them in a heartbeat for his own selfish ways. They are loyal to a guy who broke up a dynasty because he was sick of being a sidekick.

The Lakers will be fine... They've played short handed all season long. And by the way #10.... The Rockets still have Mutumbo at center who still plays the same game he always has.. defense. The Lakers have either a forward at center or a guy they picked up from a 10 day contract.

And all of a sudden T-Mac is superman.... A guy who couldn't even play 20 games in a row until now. But today he has to play defense. We'll have to see what that looks like. T-Mac has always had the skills but lacked the focus and stamina.

Lakers will be fine. It doesn't matter where they get seated in the West, only that they get in the top 8. When Gasol, Trevor, Andrew and Chris get back, we're in for some great basketball!

Ok im tired of all this "Lucky run" talk. First off dumbasses who say "The teams that the Rockets have played , all have had injuries..." stop saying that cuz really the Rockets lost the BEST center in the league!!! without Yao the Rockets are LOSING about 25ppg. BUT aha! they get Deke! a center who plays D. 5 blocks per game... (which is about 10 points from any team)***wags finger*** Shaq sux, and the West is being dominated by a true team! a TEAM! not single player stars, but an actual Team. Scola-osis, Landry, Mac, I am Legend, Battier for the 3, and all of our bench guys are awesome. Rockets for 34. and 34 is the Dream!

If I'm a Rockets fan I might be a little nervous that my team may be peaking a bit too early. You really want to be playing your best ball at the end of the season going into the playoffs. And you know that they can't possibly play any better.

The rockets have chemistry, and unbelievable abilities to find players when needed, yao is out, Landry is injured, so they pick up Harris who scores 8 points against the Bobcats in the 4th period, after the Rockets played their worst first half of the year.I think Adelman is using voodoo, besides his usual smoke and mirrors...

Get a grip. Nobody is going to be jumping off the Laker nation band wagon. The Rockets are lucky to have Pau go down now. If they (Rockets) win, who cares? Being the #1 seed in the west is not that big a deal. There's only been 4 teams that have had that honor already. Until T-mac can show that he can get out of the first round is all that matters. All win streaks end with a loss. If it happens today or tomorrow doesn't matter. There's no way they are going to win 34 in a row looking a the schedule they have. It's just a shame that Gasol won't be there to help end it today. Hopefully 3 games means 3 games. The Laker medical staff sure blew Bynum's return time so I wouldn't hold my breath. There's time for Gasol to heal and there's no reason to rush him back before he's ready. This year there will be no easy playoff seeds so getting in is what matters.
