NBA - Sports Rumors

Center Pau Gasol might return Sunday against Washington after a pain-free day with his sprained left ankle the Los Angeles Times reported.

He did some one-on-one drills Thursday with Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Kurt Rambis at the team's training facility. Some post moves still bothered him when he made quick turns, but he felt "pretty good," he said. "I'll just wait until probably Saturday to go through a full practice, see how it feels."

Gasol has missed seven games because of the ankle and is disappointed he will not play against Memphis, his former team, tonight. "It was hard to accept that I was not going to be a part of the game," said Gasol, who spent 6½ seasons with the Grizzlies before being traded Feb. 1 to the Lakers.

since its the lakers, i wouldnt be surprised if pau breaks his other foot and bynum comes back overweight and screwing things up for the team. Lakers got enough screwups with luke the fluke walton. Looks like another year that these lakers get knocked out in the first round

bobby! I feel you man. Can Luke Walton please make a jump shot! Its so bad that the other team doesnt even come out to pressure him on an open J, because they already know that hes gonna miss... On another note. I cant wait for Pau and Bynum to play together! Thats when we will dominate.

I'll believe Pao is coming back when I see it. I am getting a little worried about Bynum coming back in time to get a few games in b4 the playoffs....But with the game tonight the Lakers need to bounce back from the last game. They need to win at least 7 or 8 out of the next 10 games (pretty much every game at home) to grab one of those top seeds for the playoffs. If Pao comes back Sunday, that should be reasonable

Ok...Celtics are good and I like KG but they will not match up well against a healthy Lakers team. (Gasol, Bynum, Turiaf) will all battle KG, Kobe or Ariza can guard Pierce, and the Celtics' point guard position won't hurt the Lakers (Rondo isn't cosistent enough and is not experienced). Celtics and their fans better pray that the Lakers won't make it that far....and what makes you guys so sure you are getting out of the East???

Hey 19, the only thing getting booked is the Celtics trip back to Boston after they get stomped by the Pistons. I hope you enjoy another 20 years of not winning anything, sucker. Celtics are living on faded glory and bitter disappointment.
As for the Lakers, they don't need Pau to beat Memphis. And Kwame? Is he even getting any minutes? I'm more concerned about Javaris blowing up.

Celtics vs Lakers in the NBA Finals- Yes.... What a great way for the lakers to start off the next string of 3 straight titles!!!!
Kwame to me is like Vlade Divac- I was most pleased when he was no longer a Laker. By the same token I must admit, Kwame couldn't hold Divac's jock. They should arrest Mitch Kupchek and Dr Buss for Robbery because that's what they did to Memphis in getting the Spanish Cactus.

YAHOO! neeeeeeds to stop people from spamming on these things. It's really obnoxious. I'm a little bummed that Gasol isn't gonna be back. But I'm going to see my lakers play washington on sunday, so he had better be back by then. What I'm looking forward to today is seeing Critentin(not sure how to spell his name) play. I didn't get a chance to see him play when he was in LA. I wanna see what he can do. Go Lakers!

I'm tired of people sayin Kobe is trying to BE LIKE Jordan. Does Kobe say "I'm like Mike"? NOOO. He is Kobe Bryant. The dude ya'll love to hate. It's you dumba$$es that keep comparing him to Jordan. He's not Jordan, he's not Lebron, he's Kobe Bryant. Just cuz he is just as dominant as Jordan doesn't mean he is trying to be like him. What do you want him to do? Not play hard and tank so he doesn't look like Jordan? No he is going to play hard every night and try and win. STOP HATING!!!!!

ok everyone calmdow. the lakers r looking at the big picture. so if Gasol plays sunday great if he doesn't then they do what they did when they beat Utah and Dallas to end the road trip. Lakers will be fine. Bynum will proably be back for the Sacramento game. Ariza will proably be back for the last 2 games of the season if not b 4. Only team the Lakers should worry about in the playoffs r San Antonio eveyone else should worry about The LAKERS!!!!

Kobe is not Jordan and doesnt try to be, period. When he wins another 3 rings, without Shaq this time, he will have put his own stamp on the NBA!
Do you think it's coincidence that he wears #24????
Think about it- Mike was #23 and Kobe is #24 Duhh!!!
