Finally, Kobe Bryant deserves to be the MVP

The chant has always been there wrote columnist Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times. The truth behind it has not.

During the first few years, it was a high-pitched dream. During the last few years, it was a hollow honorarium. Finally, this season, for the first time, it is a reality. "M-V-P! M-V-P! M-V-P!"

Kobe Bryant can win it. Kobe Bryant should win it. The chant that began just four minutes into the Lakers' 96-83 victory over Portland on Tuesday night should finally become a part of Bryant's resume.

    Kobe really does deserve the MVP. Who else would get it? Not KG he isnt leading the celtics like Kobe is leading the Lakers. KG proved he cant lead a team with the timberwolves. But really i dont see anyone else who is playing on the same level kobe is this year. He really is consistantly putting up 25-30 points, 4-6 reb, 5-6 assists. Also he is playing through a injury, which now it seems everyone has forgotten about because hes still playing so well

    The only other player in the arguement would be KG. He has been out, but the turn around in Boston is pretty dramatic. Kobe is the most talented player in the NBA, but do the voters like him enough to vote for him?

    hc - That's million dollar question, I doubt they do like him. And I doubt they will vote for him or acknowledge the drastic changes he's made.

    Being the best player in the NBA doesn't make you the MVP. More than likely, every year the best player on the team with the best record is the MVP. Unless someone just has a ridiculous season. Kobe still has to watch his back. King James is right there as well.
