Baron Davis is at the altar, ready to cement his marriage to the Los Angeles Clippers. He's just waiting for Elton Brand to join him. In his first public comments concerning his soon-to-be-team, Davis said Thursday it was "time to come home."

Free-agent deals cannot be officially announced until the NBA's moratorium ends Wednesday and next year's salary cap is set. He agreed to join the Clippers, he said, in part because of the lure of playing alongside an All-Star in Brand, who became a free agent when he opted out of his Clippers contract Monday.

Brand received a new contract offer for five years and about $70 from the Clippers, but the revitalized-salary-cap space Warriors swept in with a five-year, $90-million offer, according to multiple NBA sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to publicly discuss free-agent dealings.

Neither Brand nor his agent David Falk could be reached for comment Thursday. Brand is not expected to reach a decision until after the holiday and the Clippers and Falk did not discuss the offer Thursday, according to the sources. Still, Davis expressed confidence in uniting with Brand.

"I cant wait to have an opportunity to play with one of the best big men in the game and one of the best underrated big men in the game," Davis said. "It's really a big reason why I wanted to do it. Just having somebody I can give the ball to and make plays. 'm not worried. He has to make the decision that's best for him and we all have to respect that. But it would be great to have him with the Clippers. To have him on the court, the possibilities are endless to be able to win a championship."

If they are able to sign Elton Brand the Clippers will be a playoff team for sure next season. Being a great Laker fan, I like to see the Clippers have some kind of success because no one really cares about them here in Los Angeles.

Golden state will be a joke for the next few years. Don't be mad at Baron Davis, why not call Chris Mullin and ask him by did he offer to lilttle money to him and complain to Coach Don Nelson about benching him in their last game of the year. How in the world can you do that to your franchise player? That's the main reason Davis in coming to LA.
Just he could had come to the Lakers but all well we really don't need him anyway

Good luck Clippers. Enjoy while you can. Before you know it, Davis will quit on you the way he did it to the Hornet. And when Davis does not show up ready to play, do you think Coach Mik will have the gut to bench him like Nelson did?
But before worrying how Davis will play next season, Clipper fans (if there are any in this planet) should think about how the team will replace Maggette and Brand. These two are go, went and gone.

The Clippers will always be cursed. Remember all the good players that came to the Clippers, did they stay healthy throughout their careers, remember Ron Harper, Danny Manning, Michael Cage, now Livingston, Maggette, & Brand all suffered injuries & I'm betting Baron Davis will likely fall into the curse unfortunetly. Good luck Clips hopefully you'll enjoy the short stint in the playoffs, if Brand stays. For the W's, they have a bright future with Monta, Biedrens, Wright, Randolph, Bellinelli, & Hendrix just will need a solid young point guard to go with this roster. Hopefully, W's can get either trade for one or maybe through the draft in the near future. So, rebuilding process should be in work & hopefully trade Jack to a contender for younger players or draft picks and same thing goes for Al & the rest of the older players on the W's.

Brand resigns. Davis is home. Find a Magette replacement, how about Gerald Wallace of Bobcats?

Wait, did I read that correctly? It seems from the article that the Warriors are offering Elton Brand $89,999,930. more than the Clippers?
Elton, I know it would be fun to play with Baron, but 70 dollars is not enough to live on in L.A. That's just like one tank of gas these days.
Oh wait... they must've meant $70,000,000. Never mind, that's plenty.
P.S. NBA players should start negotiating their contracts in Euros. Don't they realize their contracts are devalued under the U.S. dollar?

baron davis was golden state, the fans came out to see him play he was there superstar, i dont know how he could be a trader to the warriors. if baron wanted to leave fine, but why choose the crappy clippers? they have no more better talent then the warrrors do ,they arent going anywhere baron davis, he should have taken less money, easy for me to say, and play for the celtics or lakers or even the suns would that not be awesome to see baron davis run up and down the floor with phoniex

    All you laker experts,
I love the Lakers and Clippers, I'm a purest. Davis would never fit on the Lakers., Koby and Davis would be filling much of the same need. It's like a car, it can run good with only one engine two would ruin it. If Koby wasn't around Davis would be the right Guy. So get off this Davis to the Lakers stuff.

baron was fun to watch but overall he isn't a winner. He will never be a winner because he doesn't put his career first. He thinks about the spot lights, the movie producing, the partying with celebrities. He doesn't care about the team who paid him 17 million a year. Just like last year when we got bench in the last game cuz he couldnt make a play. that fool cared about celebrating his birthday rather than resting to get his body ready to play the next game when he knew every game counts. He played 81 a half game last year not because he wanted to, he played all those games because he wanted to land a long term contract. he couldn't just put off his bday party a week or 2 after. yeah clippers, thats the player you are getting. Baron Davis is a selfish player who will never be a winner. MJ, Wade, Lebron are true winners. Baron getting bench last game was well deserved. Monta is a winner..im glad he is still a warrior.
