Free-agent center Erick Dampier(notes) is finally getting close to making a decision on where he's going to play this season. The Toronto Star reports the 35-year-old Dampier will make his decision "shortly."
Star sources say the Raptors and Houston Rockets have the best chance of signing the 6-11 center, who averaged 6.0 points, 1.4 blocks and 7.3 rebounds per game last season for the Dallas Mavericks. He was then traded to the Charlotte Bobcats and waived.
Dampier met with Raptors president and general manager Bryan Colangelo on Thursday and then sat in on the team's second practice of the day, the Star reports.
