NBA - Sports Rumors

“AntonioWhen the Minnesota Timberwolves released Antonio Daniels(notes) last Tuesday via waivers, the team probably didn't predict that he'd be a hot commodity on the free-agent market.

The veteran point guard is apparently getting a lot of interest around the NBA and one of the teams is supposedly the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to HoopsWorld.

The Cavs were considered the frontrunners to land the guy who has averaged 7.6 points and 3.4 assists over a 12-year career. But a bunch of new teams have apparently crowded into the scene and Daniels is discussing how many playing minutes he would likely get with each team as well as what his specific role would be.

Antonio - if you want a championship come to Cleveland. If you want 15 minutes a game, go to the Clippers.

I love Lebron but Cleveland has made alot of bad moves and didnt make enough this off season. Celtics and Lakers r in the Championship this year.

Cavs can get him to keep the bench warm or keep the inactive list occupied.

antonio daniels is a class act with championship ring with the spurs.
he is also a former #4 overall pick who might finally be realizing his vast potential at age 34.
but with starting caliber point guards brevin knight, jamaal tinsley, and stephon marbury available, daniels is not the best option here. he didn't do anything last year.

rod, you say they always make bad moves, yet they didn't make enough moves this summer. are you suggesting they should have made more bad moves this off season?

The cavs need a whole lot more than this guy...Maybe get some real ballers around Lebrone ....Does not matter they will not win this year....Unless they make some real painful moves....And drop Mike brown azz

Would not be a bad signing. I can see him getting those stats in 15-20 minutes of play.
Especially with a great passer like LeBron to get him the rock.

for those who always blamed lebron's teammates, haven't you consider the distinct possibility that lebron is impeding his teammates? he dominates the ball (that's why he has that many assists even tho he's a small forward), which creates spacing issues for his teammates. he needs to learn how to play off the ball.

    Tyson...........
I think you are way off in your thinking. And not just because I am a LeBron fan............
LeBron has single-handedly extended Big Z's career, made Mo Williams a better overall player, and has been the ultimate leader for his team.
Now let's compare LeBron to the other superstars around the league. Take Kobe for example.......he has taken more shtos than LeBron over the last 7 years. Same with D-Wade...........
Therefore, I don't think he dominates the ball as much as you think.......and alot less than the guys that I have mentioned.

Cavs won't win a championship or reach the Finals with Boston and Orlando in the East or Spurs and Lakers in the West. I suggest they go join the D-League to win a Championship.

Mo Williams was good before he came to the Cavs. He's actually been worse since he arrived there. Z was good before he just needed to be healthy. And dominating the ball doesnt mean you shoot a lot. Case in point the fact that sure Wade shot more last year, but he still had more assists than lebron on the year and more points. Besides they just won a game with lebron scoring only 14 points and he didn't exactly have 20 ast like steve nash. So they can create their own shots and things. It doesn't take lebron to do it. Mo WIlliams was a starter before he got there and was good otherwise they wouldn't have brought him in.

im not a lebron fan or a kobe fan, but ppl who use championships to validate a player are idiots.
nba is a business and only guys who play for big market teams will win championships. chris webber, steve nash, dirk nowitzki, amare stoudemire, john stockton, and karl malone would've won rings if not for rigged series and ridiculous officiating.
that's why i have all the respect in the world for tim duncan and gregg popovich since the spurs are the epitome of boring basketball.
kobe bryant wouldn't have gotten pau gasol for kwame brown and phil jakckson wouldn't be back. the celts wouldn't have gotten KG and ray ray to start the boston revival.
    haven't donaghy taught you anything?

#13......sorry but Mo Williams wasn't a great "team player" before he arrived. He was selfish...........he has learned from LeBron what it means to be a team player.
Quit looking at stats and look at the type of player he has become.
    Some people are so shallow!

They don't need a guard! They need a big who can score and defend! We still have no answer for a Lamar Odom type of a player! I am Cavs fan but after watching the Celtics, Lakers, Orlando and San Antonio we still have voids that will be exposed. Lebron can't do it all. We still are missing a piece to contend. I hope that I am wrong!
