Los Angeles Lakers guards Kobe Bryant(notes) and Derek Fisher(notes), Oklahoma Thunder forward Kevin Durant(notes), Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose(notes), and New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul(notes), among others, are all headed overseas this weekend to play a two-game series in the Philippines to raise money for charity.
It might not be the last time Paul plays internationally this year. The 26-year-old said that he is keeping his options open as far as playing overseas if a lockout continues into the NBA season, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Paul has also said he might go back to college at Wake Forest, where he left after his sophomore year, to gain some credits toward his degree, the paper reports.
"I wouldn't say this [trip to the Philippines] could lead to [playing overseas]," Paul said, according to the Times-Picayune, "but those options are open anyway. When I said that [about going back to school], I said I didn't know. I'm open to all different things."
